Midnight Terror Haunted House - #1 Must See Haunted House in Illinois — Attraction in Worth Township

Okay, so let me start the review with the main reason I rated this so low; there was a Single tall actress (with pink pigtails, black and white dress, fingerless gloves, and the clear face shield) placed at the beginning line and holding pen area who would not stop touching my wife and I, and others without our consent. The touching ranged from light touching (shoulder tapping and putting her hands on my wifes phone and hands) to very uncomfortable and prolonged physical interaction which involved her leaning on and reaching her arms around my wife slowly from behind, and even latching onto my arm like you'd see a significant other do, we reacted to all physical touch from her by expressing we don't want to be touched and showing extreme discomfort with her actions, but she continued. I vocally told her to stop touching me after the arm latching but she still continued the light touches until around the time we were released from the holding pen. Actors touching people when they should not be is NOT okay and was an automatic one star. Every other actor but her knew that rule and would ask permission.

Now, for the review of the rest of the haunted house:

It was very disappointing, dull, and a bit frustrating. I'll start from beginning to end; We arrived to the haunt to be told we had to drive 7+ extra minutes away to a random parking garage with only one sign saying "haunted house parking" (and sure, I appreciate free parking, but more signage is a need, alongside closer parking) where inside we were confused as to where we could park, as the spots were labeled "parking pass only". We found out it is a "park anywhere" situation when someone leaving their car told us. We were shuttled by bus back to the haunt which was nice, but when we got there it was SUPER muddy. It was raining as always in Illinois, but We were not expecting a line through straw and mud for an industrial park building in Oak Lawn, and if we had been told mud was a possibility and the line would be outdoors, we would have worn more appropriate footware.

Now for the inside; the rooms were super incohesive and sporatic. I know it sounds knitpicky, but once you have been to a cheaper haunt, with much better attention to detail, you can't help but feel disappointed in walking through corridors with seemingly no reason behind their being there. It's like being in the TV as someone flips through horror channels and really takes away from the horror of being in a swamp area and the next corridor is something like a bathroom.

Aside from that there were MANY rooms that were lacking any actors or sounds, some even without scary props, or creepy lighting as well, Just dead scenery. (This was on a Friday 2 days before halloween, also, so it wasn't a slow day). We could very easily see the floor pressure triggers for automated jump scares and sound effects as well, which made us really lose any sense of being caught off guard.

There were small areas that were plain dangerous, very cramped and pitch black winding tunnels with 180° turns that caused me to ram my head into the wall not knowing of a turn, and almost running into panicking children too scared to move on, just very dangerous to have with such a large crowd who is gathered in the same small space with little to no spacing between groups.

Next we have the jump scares and actors, some of the actors were really trying, but most of them really didn't seem to know what they were doing or blatantly doing the same thing another actor did (i.e. follow very close behind my wife who was very unscared of them and just say things we couldn't really hear) minutes beforehand as if it would be scary a second time, there were actors missing in a very obvious hiding spot leaving a room quiet and...

I literally wrote a review when I attended last year for my birthday. There was nothing wrong with it to my knowledge, but It somehow got removed.

The location was pretty far, but it was well worth it. I purchased 2 fast admissions passes and there was LITERALLY NO LINE!!! I was slightly upset, yet excited to go in. I went on November 6th with the clowns and it was magnificent!

Anyways, I’m back to tell you that I absolutely had a blast at this haunted house on my birthday!!!!! I have been to 3 others (that I will not name) and I was not scared in the slightest. I loved it so much that I already purchased more tickets for this year. I’m also bringing more people along with me, so I hope they like it as much as I did.

(2020 Review) I took my daughter along to this one and I really wanted my daughter to have a good time for her first time going. Yes, they provided her with a mind blowing experience that she did not forget. This was a chilling & hair raising experience that I absolutely needed in my life!!!! Chileeee, I was definitely scared and happy at the same time. I hope to go more than 3 times this year, hopefully!!! I highly recommend this place for sure!!!!!

2021 Update: The location is in Oak Lawn and it’s not far from me at all. I just went again with my daughter and her dad on the 24th and we had sooooooo much fun! The actors were honestly so in character and we absolutely enjoyed it! I will most definitely be going again very soon and taking a larger group! We also did some axe throwing at the end…which was nice! Sadly, I didn’t hit the marks in the pics, but I definitely hit the wood on the side…haha!!! I would say definitely go with a group and enjoy yourself! I highly recommend this haunted house to...

I’ve been here before and it was actually decent considering the area. Unfortunately this year my whole experience changed. We went through the haunted house and were enjoying ourselves me and two others. All of the sudden security was forcing us to follow them which at first I thought was part of the experience until I noticed they lead us to the parking lot. And began asking how did we get there very rudely not explaining anything. I kept asking did we do anything wrong and they wouldn’t tell me. Finally they told us someone made threats to knock people out which I found odd because it was pretty full so I was wondering how did we get forced out out of everyone. Especially since we never said anything to the workers. We screamed and that was about it. I hate to pull the race card but it was pro dominantly whites and we were the only blacks and I asked how did they pin point us out of everyone and they were very rude and couldn’t explain to me anything just kicked me out. The women was very rude and basically I wasted my money. I told one of the security I should get a refund because we didn’t even get to finish and he told me I still got my moneys worth because we were only 5 minutes away from finishing which wasn’t the point and then he laughed about it. I will not recommend anyone coming here unless you want to be asked to leave. Smh. Ruined my experience and I am not the only person who had the same experience with this exact location.
