Aesthetically beautiful and well kept. The fountains add a very nice touch and if you're walking passed them when the wind is blowing, you'll get a nice spritz! The people are friendly. There are exercise stations strategically placed around the park, even upper body strengthening for people in wheelchairs. Isolated exercise kiosks for stretching, stationary bikes, ab crunches...etc, are also available, which are a nice touch. Plenty of field space with nice, thick grass. For this to be a rather large park, it's relatively quiet. The ONLY problem I've had, is with the birds attacking! I was warned about it from others who were either attacked or who had seen others get attacked. I've been jogging/walking/running in that park for three years now. There were warning signs posted in the park about the birds in the past, but not now. I guess certain parts of the path, the birds have nests they're protecting. They'll fly at you to get you away from their nests. One of them flew at my head, touched my hair and flew away just the other day, so I don't run down THAT particular aisle. I was ok but I went back the next day to run (lol) and saw a lady and her young son get attacked in the SAME area that I was running, the day before. Other than that, it's a bright, beautiful, well kept park. I took one star away because of the...
Read moreI love to run and pray in my car at this park because it is so serene. People usually greet and that's great except while I'm there to run, I am laser focus and don't like my attention deterred. I determine how many laps I will run before I get there, so after running a few laps, usually all I can do is wave when folks say good morning. When I am there to accomplish a goal, I don't talk because I am so focused on what I am there to do. If there on a weekday morning, I work from home, so I am in and out quickly to run, go get my coffee and get back home to work. Other than the bikes and dogs that seem, at times, to intentionally follow on every path I run (which at times is annoying because it breaks my focus), this park is an excellent place for me to do what...
Read moreThis is a really nice field. It's well groomed and the grass is always cut. During the late summer and autumn months, they have the farmers market on Thursdays. There's a plenty of space to jog, and walk with your pets. There are fitness classes out there during the warmer months. They have sports for the children when the weather is warm and ice skating during the winter. You have to be careful of the birds during mating seasons. After they have their offsprings, if you walk near the area where their nest are, you may get swiped across the head by their parents. The park district is good about putting signs out there to alert the people about the birds. Yukich Field is a wonderful place for sports, working out, and so much...
