Crystal Pier — Attraction in Wrightsville Beach

Very nice spot to come and relax at Wrightsville Beach. There is usually live music over at Oceanic that you can hear so we definitely enjoy that. The water is gorgeous (especially a couple weeks ago, it literally looked like the Caribbean) BUT it is very busy and hard to get a parking space. A little bit of a walk from road to beach but it is paved most of the way which makes it easier for people that have a hard time walking in sand. There are lifeguards also on each side. BUT people please use common sense and do not try to swim, etc right up under or near the pier! People are actively fishing and that means there is bait and hooks in the water (which, big surprise to some, may cause marine animals you do not want to see to come near, lol) The lifeguards do a great job on keeping their eyes out for those certain people that just don't realize the dangers though, so great job to those guys!!!!! All in all a great place to come....don't forget to bring an umbrella or canopy and waters because that sun is NOT playing!!! The pictures are from...

Beautiful beach with free, easy beach access. They also have free beach showers and changing rooms. The water was very clear, and the beach was clean as well.

The only downside is how difficult it is to find parking. It’s obviously a big attraction, so just make sure you expect to be searching for parking for a bit when you arrive. However, the evenings aren’t too bad, and you can see many people surfing if you go around sunset! It is a beautiful place....

Used to be my favorite place to fish until the police started enforcing the 10pm-8am closing time. Spent many nights with great people out there catching fish after getting off of work at night. Not much reason for us to bother with Wrightsville Beach anymore. Both piers are closed at night and I'm not trying to lug fishing gear and my child around the beach in the dark. Wrightsville Beach only cares about parking and tickets for D.U.I.'s. Farewell Crystal....
