Calimesa Plaza Shopping Center — Attraction in Yucaipa

The best 99 cent store is in this plaza....these guys are great! They are a family run business and carry just about anything you could dream of. Also here in the plaza is golden dragon, also family run and my favorite Chinese food joint...it's tiny and in the corner, but holy #$&@ their food is amazing!!! I am addicted to a dish called LOMI, which is sort of like chow mein noodles with pico de Gallo and Asian BBQ pork or other meats. I literally dream of this magical creation! Try the wonton tacos and the fried dumplings....also the sauce for the steamed dumplings is divine! My lady likes to drink it and always takes it home to savor every leftover drop later. Steak n burger diner is also there in the plaza, and is also an excellent spot, try the Chile Verde omelette (ask for beans on the side for the full experience). Last but not least the fourth family run spot in the plaza, Ocampos is a wonderful spot to have a beer and or some authentic, fresh made Mexican food. The hand built wooden bar alone is worth checking out, and the salsa is grand! I love the Mexican breakfast for a mean hangover cure and is only around 7$ So, ya! The plaza is pretty much THE place to shop and eat great food around Yucaipa ( I consider it calimesa, since it's on our side of the wash ) check it out next time you end up out here in the hills...

I prefer to do my laundry here, eat nextdoor at the Steak & Burger Cafe while the laundry washes, & stop in at the Indian .99 cent store while they dry(all in the same small plaza), for awesome deals on name brand laundry & cleaning supplies...lots of good stuff there! BUT, U MUST BEWARE of the Jaberwock...the JubJub Bird, he swoops in around 9pm to yell at customers if the washers & driers rnt working right, they overflowed or ate UR money. If u have left ur clothes unattended for 10mins he threatens to close early on u n go home. The Jaberwock only has one level & its BLAST. So, suck up the loss & enjoy cheaper & better maintained machines then Jenny's...

Had dinner at Steak and Burger. Always good food. Always good service. I Had roast beef,baked potato,vegetables and garlic toast. Was surprised I enjoyed the meal as much as I did. The beef was thin sliced with brown gravy. So good. My boyfriend had a Picante burger. Burger with fried jalapenos and chipotle mayo,fried zucchini for his side. He thoroughly enjoyed it!! One of my fave spots to eat! They have quite a variety of food to choose...
