Keep away from Code Boutique. My daughter and I went and purchased a dress for her sweet 16, and were told that it would be ordered immediately since it was paid for in full. The girl that helped us was very friendly and helpful throughout our shopping experience. The dresses in the store were dirty, dingy, and some were torn and missing sequins. The girl in the store told my daughter that she didn't have to worry about her dress being torn or missing sequins because she was getting a brand new dress that has never been worn or tried on. We were told that the dress would arrive in 2 weeks and they would call to let me know when it arrived. Well 2 weeks came and went with no word from Code Boutique. So I drove over there to see if I could get an estimated date of arrival. The same girl was there and said that it had not arrived yet and would call me as soon as it arrived. The very next week they called but I wasn't able to take the call, so they left a voice message. The voice message said that the repairs to the dress were made and it was ready for pick up. I was confused about the message because I had purchased a new dress. So I drove down there again and asked what was going on because I bought a new dress and there shouldn't have been any repairs to be made. This time there was a different girl (Nikki) and she said that she thought I knew about the dress. And I said what are you talking about. Well apparently they never ordered the dress and sent the display dress to the cleaners for repairs and cleaning. I told Nikki that I was not taking the dress because that is not the dress I paid for. I asked Nikki if the girl who sold me the dress was there, and she told me that the girl had quit the day before. So I asked if there was a manager or someone else I could talk to about the issue and she said no. So I asked for the managers office number and Nikki said she couldn't give me the number. I asked her why not and she didn't say anything, she just stared at me and stayed quiet. I told her what they were doing was not right and that I wanted a refund. Nikki said we don't give refunds. So again I asked to speak with the manager and Nikki said she's not here. Then the store phone rang and it was Cynthia the manager asking to speak to me. I got on the phone with her and told her I wanted my money back because they didn't order the dress I bought. She said that they don't do refunds. So I told her to order the dress I paid for and she said no. I asked why not and Cynthia said that "even if she wanted to order the dress she couldn't because it was discontinued." So I told her again to give me my money back and she said no. Then she was trying to get me to pick out another dress and even went as far as offering free tuxedo rental. I am still trying to get my money back and they are still refusing even though they can't hold up their end of the bargain. DO NOT SHOP AT CODE BOUTIQUE! I went in to try on a suit for my wedding (which was about 3 months away at the time), and ended up leaving a $20 deposit just in case I couldn’t find another suit. I ended up finding one the same day, which I bought for cheaper than it cost me to rent here. I called them the very next day to tell them I did no longer needed the suit and even offered to purchase an item from them using the $20 after being told I could not be given back my $20 deposit. They informed me I could not do so which led me to only rent a shirt and tie from them so my money would not go to waste. The shirt and tie cost $65, mind you it was just a regular white dress shirt, and black pre tied tie. The day I picked up the shirt & tie, I explained I was leaving on my honeymoon the very next day following my wedding, and would have my mother return these items for me. My mother did not have a chance to drop them off on Tuesday, as they are closed on Monday’s, and was charged a $25 fee for dropping off on Wednesday. I tried on style with the neckline to the collar and was told it wasn’t available after I’d ordered it. They offered another style and I agreed. They failed to advise how much I was agreeing to. The dress was not flattering at all. I supposed if you have experience shopping for a wedding you know items are non refundable but it was my first experience and it was never mentioned nor is it on the receipt. What was worse I was told that a lace strap low cut dress fits the same as a high collar so it didn’t matter that I didn’t try it on, that they were just looking out for me in my $200 purchase.
