The only bridge like it in the World. Initially built in 1914 the Y shape was created to allow traffic heading East across the bridge to go either North or South as heading straight on would involve driving straight into a mountain. Aviators use this bridge for a reference point and famed pilot Amelia Earhart said it was the most recognizable city in America. This is a fifth generation bridge with the first being a trestle bridge and then a covered bridge. Before traffic lights were invented a traffic officer would be stationed in the center of the Y to direct traffic. It was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records and on the National Register of Historic Places.

Only Y Bridge in the world. Had to drive it and take a walk. The water moves very swiftly over the dam and under the bridge. Love the impressive light poles. It looks good on the city of Zaynesville how well they have preserved this historic asset.

I just love the fact that we have a bridge in the shape of a y and the look on people's faces when you give them directions to turn right or turn left once they get to the middle of the bridge π
