Surrounded by Thong Nhat Park ( review separately available on its respective page ) on all sides, lies this one of the most popular lakes in Hanoi, not far away from Ga Hanoi. It has plenty of fish, and one can often see people fishing here. One can also see the reflection of various colours of the buildings which are around the lake. This part of the lake is well-maintained.
The other part of the lake which is small ( situated outside Thong Nhat Park ), on the other side of the Le Duan Road, smells quite foul and safe to say it hasn't been looked after well. This lake area doesn't seem to have adequate lighting. Many sides of it are covered by a significant number of small houses and shops. Many bikes were parked just beside the walking area ( although not on the walking track ) when I went there. Even the track had some little stuff of various people/shops on it. So, given all that, surely this small side of the lake is not worth walking and seeing around.
