DO NOT COME HERE OF U CARE FOR ANIMALS Upon initial arrival we had seen many tiktoks saying to come here. As we arrived we were met with one buffalo stuck in a tiny bamboo cage on concrete with barely enough room to turn around. We entered and paid an entrance fee of 75k to which included a drink and all the amenities available, this included fishing, the cave, duck feeding and buffalo feeding. The fishing was a bamboo stick with some dough in a tiny pond which was near impossible to catch a fish in. The most sad part however was the ducks. Multiple baby ducks were crammed into a small cage with two bigger ones below, they all looked bedraggled despite being only a couple weeks old. When looking in the pond there were multiple dead ducklings floating around to which the owner picked up with a net dropped onto the ground moved it around with her foot then proceeded to throw it in the bin with young kids watching the whole interaction, which is beyond traumatising. Nevermind the fact that if you were coming here for the cave, it was a basically rotten bamboo pathway to a tiny cave that u can look into. Please do not give your money to these people and instead walk 10 mins down the road to the actual cafe with ducks that you can feed which are...
Read moreOne of the saddest experiences I had in Vietnam. I really regret visiting this place and I don't understand why there are so many positive reviews... The ducks are squeezed in a small cage, they climb on top of each other. Today there was one dead in the corner, two others will probably die in the next few hours (they have already lost the color on their beaks and can barely move). I'm attaching a photo because the owner will soon write back to me that they take care of the animals. Poor Buffalo is locked in a small shed, on a short string (he can't reach the ground to eat what has fallen). He didn't have water when I was there. It's just tragically sad and they put there info she is part of their family… The rest of the activities - you can catch fish as I reach for them, you'll guess what and how, because at the entrance I was only asked what I wanted to drink, they took the money and that was it for the interaction. By the way, passion fruit smoothie is orange water without taste. To sum it all up, they also have a small puppy who is covered in ticks... Just don't support such places here. I hope at least one person who has succumbed to the magic of tiktok will see this opinion and...
Read moreHad a great day here and ticked off some firsts! I was lucky to be one of the testers for a new tour which is starting in a couple weeks. Kin was an excellent host and we met some great fellow travellers here.
The tour started with a really beautiful, easy flat bicycle ride 15 mins out of Tam Coc. We had a welcoming drink and then "made friends" with two buffalo by washing them and feeding them. After researching a little on how much they can carry, 4 of us had separate short rides, which is certainly an experience I'll probably never do again. After, we got changed into waders that they provided. We went fishing with baskets. Happy to have caught 1 big fish, however a little sad to see it wasn't killed straight away. We feedback to Kin at the end so hopefully this will change on future tours. We then planted rice which was another first and gives you a real appreciation for the effort rice planting takes. The waterfall shower was ace and then we cracked a beer, talked to our fellow travelers and waited for our fish to be cooked. The cook showed us how to make the summer rolls and we had a perfect lunch. All in all a fabulous day. Would recommend if when this tour comes up...
