We were lucky to stay at Coco Garden Resort and have access to this beach which is very close to the resort (resort is a lot, basically very nice bungalows with a pool. Great accommodation and very cheap).
Otherwise is very difficult to see where you can access the beach. If you come from outside look for a turquoise gate at the main road and enter via a small gate. There is also a sign in front of the gate with Coco Garden Resort. There is a guard there but they don’t ask anything. You can tell you stay at Coco Garden. Follow the road straight after you enter the gate and then take a left and a right and you arrive at the beach.
When we were here in april the sea was amazing, the beach very nice. But just this part. As you walk more you find a lot of trash. As I understand the land here is already sold to big resorts that will built in the future. Too bad to ruin such beauty. I think this is one of the few remaining beautiful beaches but still inaccesible to the public as most of the island beaches.
Too bad comercial tourism ruined the...
Read moreAs another very helpful review below (Rita) pointed out, ignore google directions for beach access as most of the beach is blocked by private resorts. It's 2km walk from the vinbus 17/19 stop. Head to Family Inn Restaurant then walk up the hill (Family Inn will be on your left). About 100m up you'll see a break in the fence to the left and a very rocky road - head up this road. No vehicle access but if you're on a motor bike you should be ok. There will be a fork in the road after about 200m however both reconverge down the hill so doesn't matter which one you follow. Once you reach the bottom head to the right for Ong Lang Beach. The Eco Lodge Resort restaurant will be on your left. We ate here then walked back up through their reception for a shortcut back to the mainroad. No toilets or food stalls...
Read moreA beautiful stretch of crescent shaped beach with golden sand and swimming. But take note, ALL the land fronting the beach has been sold for development. Some have been finished, some not yet started, but the whole stretch of the beach has VERY LIMITED ACCESS. The land has all been sold and developers have blocked off access with gates, fences and security guards. Hopefully you will be lucky enough to enjoy this beach before the resorts take over completely. We came and found a beautiful island with lovely people, but we didn't come to fight for access to a beach. Would we come again? Definitely not., There are other places in the world, like Thailand, where the beaches are owned by the Crown and access can be enjoyed byeveryone, not just those who choose to stay in expensive resorts. ...
