Sharing our experience from our visit on April 15. Please note that some aspects might vary depending on the time of year.
-The cable car service starts at 9:00 AM. -When we arrived at 8:40 AM, there was a queue of about 20 meters, but once the cable car started operating, we were able to board fairly quickly. -If you sit by the window on the left side after entering the gondola, you’ll be facing the direction of travel. -From the cable car terminal to the entrance of Aquatopia, it’s about a 10-minute walk.
-Although the park opens from around 9:00 AM and you can enter the premises, you can only go into the water from 10:00 AM. -The changing rooms are accessible before 10:00 AM, but locker reception starts at 10:00 AM. -As a result, there may be a short queue at the lockers right after 10:00 AM. -Lockers cost 15,000 VND in cash; you receive a key and get a 5,000 VND refund when you return it, so the actual cost is 10,000 VND. -You can open and close the locker as many times as needed. -You can also leave your belongings on poolside chairs without using a locker, but do so at your own risk as theft may occur. -There wasn’t much of a wait for the sliders — we could ride them one after another (this might depend on the season).
-Each attraction has a rack near the entrance to place sandals, goggles, etc. -The rules on wearing goggles vary depending on the staff — some enforce a no-goggles policy, while others say nothing. -Neck straps for smartphones are strictly prohibited. -Most sliders are available for children over 120 cm in height. -For children between 106 cm and 119 cm, the following are available: +Sliders No. 7, 8, 9, and 10 are two-person rides. +Sliders No. 18 and 19 are six-person rides (they require at least five people to operate; for example, a group of four will be paired with another two). +Slider No. 17 is a solo ride, but at your own risk. Our 4-year-10-month-old daughter managed it alone, but this may vary by child. +If your child can enjoy those mentioned above, sliders No. 4, 5, and 6 might be skippable.
-Some guests were warned about bringing smartphones into the water, but many others were not. -Be careful not to go too far forward in the pool, or staff might call you back.
-There are outdoor showers you can use while walking around the park. -Since you’ll need to walk a bit to return to the cable car, make sure to save some energy for the return trip. -If you leave between 3:00 PM and 3:30 PM, the cable car back is not crowded at all.
It was an incredibly fun experience for our children (one in early elementary school, the other in preschool). The whole family enjoyed...
Read moreAquatopia Water Park is an absolute must-visit if you’re looking for a mix of adventure, relaxation, and family fun. Located on Hon Thom Island and accessible via the world’s longest sea-crossing cable car, the journey to the park itself is breathtaking. The views from the cable car of the turquoise sea, lush green islands, and open sky are a perfect prelude to the excitement that awaits.
The water park is large, modern, and extremely well-maintained, with a wide variety of slides, pools, and themed attractions that cater to all age groups. For thrill-seekers, there are several adrenaline-pumping rides with steep drops and twisting turns that guarantee a rush of excitement. Families with kids will love the child-friendly areas with mini slides, splash zones, and shallow pools that are both safe and engaging.
One of the best parts about Aquatopia is its creative theming. The park is designed with pirate and tropical island elements, giving it a unique vibe compared to standard water parks. Walking through the park feels immersive, with photo-worthy spots at almost every corner.
Safety and cleanliness are well taken care of. Lifeguards are attentive, the facilities are hygienic, and everything feels organized. There are plenty of shaded areas, loungers, and cabanas where you can relax in between rides, which makes the experience comfortable even if you spend the entire day here.
Food options are diverse with both Vietnamese and international choices, and the quality is decent for a theme park. Prices are slightly on the higher side, but that’s expected in such attractions. What really makes the visit special is how it balances thrill and leisure — you can scream your lungs out on a steep water slide and then float peacefully on a lazy river right after.
The only minor drawback is that it can get crowded during peak tourist seasons, especially on weekends and holidays, so arriving early is a good idea to enjoy shorter queues.
Overall, Aquatopia Water Park is a fantastic destination — fun-filled, beautifully themed, and suitable for both families and adventure lovers. It’s not just a water park but an experience that complements the stunning natural setting of Hon Thom. A day here feels refreshing, exciting, and memorable, making it one of the highlights of a Vietnam trip.

Read moreI bought tickets because I really wanted to ride the impressive 8km long cable car. I had little expectation for the theme park, thinking it's just another one of those. But wow, it surprised me. I bought a combo of cable car & buffet lunch & kiss bridge tickets (there are no tickets only for cable car). Firstly cable car views are amazing, the cabin is extremely huge - it fits 30 pax. You see an amazing view of the clear turquoise waters, only downside is government must launch an active programme to do massive cleanup of all the debris lodge in between the rocks of every pretty island. There's so much rubbish spoiling the sights. Next - I thought that was it, best part of the day done. I was wrong. The buffet was a crazy amazing spread of food. There was a large selection of grilled seafood, meat, even a leg of cured ham!! And the hula like dancers that suddenly bounced into the restaurant did a really good job with their dancing. Certainly alot of money spent on quality dancers and the landscaping with aquamarine artsy statues, beautifully landscaped park is amazing. No area was left out of the landscaping! The slides were a good mix of thrills and milder ones. Kids even had ample kiddy pool space with water guns and kiddy slides. To my surprise, my ticket even allowed me on 'dry' rides. There was a obsertavory ride (suitable for even senior citizens) that brought guests upwards for a 360 view of the landscape and for daredevils, a very beautiful wooden roller coaster! The only meh of the place was the lacklustre beach - greenish water, coarse brown sand (but this is expected through much of phu quoc island). They could have put a drinks stand right on the beach not sure why this was the only area that felt 'unplanned'. Once I got back to the main island via cable car - proceeded to Kiss Bridge and once again was surprised by a very good flyboard show at the bridge. They actually had some record holding flyboard athlete as part of the performance! Talk about really investing in their shows and park experience. I came with very low expectations, left feeling amazed over...
