3 1/2 stars. It's very beautiful and a little bit quaint here because it is a fishing Village. But if you are someone who is sensitive to odors you should know that the orders of fishing are strong here at the water's edge near the boats. I don't mind it so much because I'm from an area where there's a lot of fishing. Also the beach is somewhat dirty/littered. But the water is very, very clear. It would be great if they ran a pier out a ways so people could swim off of a pier. Also be careful of the sand at the water's edge because it's extremely soft. It's probably not a problem getting into the water but you might have a little problem getting out of the water especially if you're older and maybe your legs are not so strong. Also I'm posting the photo here of the bridge on the road just before the beach. Please be aware that this is a bridge over an uncontrolled drainage creek. you should stay clear of the opening on the beach because there is raw drainage hitting the ocean here. If you just like being near the water and you don't necessarily want to get into the water it seems to be a great place, and I enjoyed the love Hotel which is a good basic tourist class hotel. Also has...
Read moreGanh Dau Beach offers a quiet escape on the northwestern tip of Phu Quoc Island, with views stretching across the sea to Cambodia. The beach is known for its soft, golden sands that gently curve around clear turquoise waters, creating a picturesque coastal scene. However, while the setting appears ideal at first glance, it comes with a few drawbacks. The presence of many fishing boats anchored nearby takes away from the sense of seclusion and limits the beach's suitability for swimming.
Despite being bordered by pristine rainforests that serve as the green lungs of the area, the beach itself suffers from poor maintenance. Litter, including large discarded items like mattresses, is scattered near the shore, detracting from the natural beauty. Amenities are minimal, making it less appealing for those seeking a full beach-day experience. That said, Ganh Dau can still be worth a short visit—especially during sunset, when the sky ignites in rich hues and the calm sea reflects the fading light. It's a spot better suited for peaceful walks and scenic views than for swimming...
Read moreWatch out, folks. It's a challenge of a quest for the beautiful beach that others have mentioned in their posts. Ganh Dau is a fishing village and most of the clean swimmable beaches are already claimed by the big-name resorts. Also, paths leading to open beaches are unpaved, rough and rocky, and muddy in the rainy season. Vung Bau resort has a tiny beach at the end of a lengthy rock path. A few minutes from Ganh Dau village is one of the main tourist attractions to local hero and legend Nguyen Trung Truc temple. A...
