Be warned. I was almost pickpocketed. I think their modus operandi is like this.

  1. Offer low price for the sleds to lure you.
  2. Draw you to a place further away from the crowd.
  3. Pick a high slope telling you it’s more fun to give them more time to ransacked your bags. Also out of view when you are at the bottom. Or worst give time to run away.
  4. Tell you to go on the slope together as a family. So everyone would put their bag down. They used spare sleds to cover the view of your bags.
  5. Selling them themselves as good and experienced photographer and videographer. To distract you. So they usually operate in pair.

My son didn’t want to take the sled as a family. I found it strange they repeatedly ask to do it. After that they offered us to take a family photo and chose a spot further away from our bags with the excuse of nicer view. We didn’t sit far thankfully that when I heard the zipper of my bag opening or closing. I couldn’t see cause the lady used the sled to cover the view of the bags.

I think the lady could find the cash cause I had hidden them in a plastic bag instead of a wallet. Thankfully.

Be warned. I only managed to capture one lady face. They other was...

Pickpocket Alert! Now that I'm reading the reviews, I understand why those women were being so annoying/mean towards me.

I was sitting on the highest sand dune there to take pictures, and they kept trying to hustle me to go away. Because a family was sliding there.

More than 20 times, four different vendors told me to leave and take a photo from the other side or to go to a distant dune. One even came all the way from their spot far away just to tell me to move. I never moved away for a long time until I saw my tour group leaving i just pretended to not understand them.

Now that I’ve read reviews about many people getting pickpocketed, it completely makes sense why they were doing this. I would have been a witness, as I said I wanted to watch how they were sliding. So the vendores tried to shove me away.

I think the family I was watching might have been robbed since there weren’t many other people around.

It also seemed like there was some serious arguing between the 2-3 groups of vendors over who got to slide in which area.

On top of all that, there was a huge amount of trash everywhere. Definitely, avoid sliding or...

There are not only here to play the sand dune. this is just one of it. My driver bring here when I say I want to go to sand dune but so at first we just want to take photo and leave to the ATV place but after we takephotos.

there was a local girl offering us to play the sandboarding and my friend want to play it since the price they offer is 50k/board so we think wejust want to rent for 2 board only and just take turns to play.

we need to walk few minutes to arrive at place where not so many people and play there. thegirl offer to take our pictures and record videos of us playing that sandboarding. After the session end, she ask for tips and we agree to give tip100k.

my friend already give 100k to her but she ask for another 100k to give to her mum. we pissed off because its too much as we are not that rich to givetip 200k easily!

but because most of us are soft hearted so we give 50k more to her. that’s all. So moral of the story, if they offer to take your picture, just say no if don’t want to pay tips at the end of the game. if you want to play ATV, you need to go to other place, not here. I will share it at the...
