Jorge was an absolutely delightful host, going above and beyond to make our stay in Salta perfect. We had booked a triple room but as the twin room hadn't been booked that night, he gave us both rooms at no extra cost. Thank you Jorge! He also gave us free passes to the museum saving us 100 pesos/ ~7 USD per person. All in all he could not have been any more welcoming or friendly. He also told us some very interesting stories about his past over breakfast. The rooms are lovely, spacious and comfortable. My only qualm (obviously no fault of Jorge's, simply due to the location) is that Caseros 44 is on quite a noisy road and was too hot to sleep with the windows shut; and being opposite a beautiful convent meant bells at ringing at various times in the early hours. The bathroom off the double room could also do with a bit of a deep clean and revamp. Breakfast was lovely; fresh fruit salad, croissants and toast. Location couldn't have been better, a 10 minute walk from the main square and on the same block as two excellent restaurants (Chirimoya and La Cuisine). Incredibly convenient also for the main car hire companies, they are all located just a few...
Read moreFrom the moment I emailed the owner, Jorge, of Caseros 44 I knew that it was going to be a great place to stay. He was so helpful and made it very easy to book direct with him, rather than having to use an accommodation agency which I like. When we arrived after a long day of travelling and a delayed flight we were warmly welcomed and shown to our huge, very comfortable room and ensuite bathroom. Over the next few days, Jorge was so helpful, discussing our plans over delicious breakfasts and generally trying to ensure our stay in Salta was as interesting and enjoyable as possible. ||||We hired a car and drove south and north of Salta for three days, then returning to Jorge (and his lovely wife who speaks excellent English, having been a high-level teacher in that subject for many years) and it felt like coming home. I would recommend everyone to stay at Caseros 44 who likes quiet, comfort, a lovely atmosphere and a great location near the centre of the city but just a little...
Read moreJorge and Suzanne's home is the perfect base in Salta, a charming, authentic town in the incredibly stunning North west of Argentina. We stayed at Caseros 44 for three non-consecutive nights, and Jorge was gracious about helping us plan our outings, welcoming us back upon each return. The room with the terrace facing the convent is very large with lots of natural light. The church bells are surely atmospheric. We chose to keep our windows open so we could enjoy them, but the windows are well insulated if you prefer the silence. Their home is in the historic section within easy walking distance of the central square, museums, and great restaurants. All in all, excellent value, and an environment that...
