Hotel Salta — Hotel in Salta

I will definitely go back to Salta (which is beautiful by the way) but will not choose this hotel again. My choise of staying there was mainly because of its location, which is indeed great. Rooms and bedding were always very clean. I don´t recommend a standard room since the shower area is minuscule (and due to the shower curtain, the bathroom floods everytime someone showers). The breakfast is served on a beautiful and large room, but the food items seemed always to be from the day before. It´s not bad, but could be better for a self proclaimed 4* hotel. The breakfast though, was really nice and helpful. Unfortunately, I had a very unpleasant situation with the reception desk for two nights in a row. My mom caught a cold, so I went downstairs (I didn´t even call, I went there myself) to get a mug or cup with hot water so I could fetch her some tea (which I had taken with me from home, God forbid I ask for that too). The guy told me they didn´t have any that could be borrowed for guests, just the ones the staff used there. I said that was ok if I could have it, since it was almost 10 P.M. so a bit late to go out and buy one. He wasn´t very pleased on lending it to me. Anyways, fast forward to a few hours later ( I cannot be precise here because I was already asleep) the room phone rings and the person asks me about the cup I had borrowed! Importante side note: it was a corporate gift mug from the car rental company near the hotel... it wasn´t even a hotel one. Anyways, I told him we were already asleep and I would take it back the next morning first thing, since we would leave really early next morning (not leave the hotel, leave for a tour). So next morning I did as I said i would. Different staff at the desk, I told them what had happened, he apologized etc. The next night I needed the same thing once again and thought, well, they already know I´m not a mug thief, so they will lend it again right? Same guy from the night before comes with a espresso mug (really small) saying that was the only one they had. Clearly he didn´t want to help me because I had complained (and he probably got questioned about it). So I left the hotel (at 9:45 P.M) to buy a mug to fetch my mom another tea. Excelente estadía de 7 noches en el Hotel Salta. Al principio dudaba en reservar por la información sobre el tamaño de los baños.

Destacado: ubicación inmejorable, muy buena relación precio calidad, excelente limpieza y atención, muy buen desayuno buffet, estacionamiento y Wi-Fi gratuitos, 2 ascensores modernos, habitaciones para personas con movilidad reducida (a pedido), Certificación en Sustentabilidad Bronce.

Es el hotel más antiguo de Salta y está conservado de forma impecable. Tómense el tiempo para recorrerlo y ver las hermosas escaleras, pasillos y salas de estar, la sala de cine, la sala de reunión, el piano, las intervenciones en las paredes del comedor, la maravillosa entrada (su puerta principal se convierte en giratoria manualmente).

Estuvimos en una habitación standard, la 421. Tiene piso de parquet, aire acondicionado inverter, es muy silenciosa y con preciosa vista. Los colchones son de resortes y muy cómodos. Igual las almohadas. Los productos son de La Cardeuse. Hay una cajonera con escritorio incorporado y un minibar. Quizá estuvimos un poco cortos con el espacio para apoyar. Por supuesto también tiene caja de seguridad y TV.

El baño sí es muy pequeño. Creo que lo que más nos afectó fue acceder al inodoro ya que estaba enfrentado con el zócalo de la ducha y no nos entraban los pies. La ducha, que consta del zócalo cerámico en el suelo y cortina de baño es muy pequeña, creo que de 60x60 cm, y tiene jabonera empotrada con agarradera. Había que moverse con cuidado para que la cortina no se saliera del zócalo de la ducha y no se mojara mucho el baño y además había que sujetarse bien de la agarradera. La ducha tiene canilla de pies además del duchador estándar, pero no tiene duchador de mano. El único espacio de apoyo en la ducha es la jabonera que mencioné. El baño también cuenta con bidet separado, con secador de pelo y con una gran ventana.

La limpieza, excepcional siempre, tanto en la habitación y el baño como en áreas comunes. Hay servicio de lavandería con costo adicional.

El desayuno es buffet autoservicio y bastante completo. Había opciones de fruta fresca cortada y manzanas al horno, cereales, pan lactal, facturas, jamón y queso en feta, algunos postres, yogurt bebible, manteca, mermelada y queso untable, hasta donde recuerdo, además de las infusiones típicas y jugo de naranja y de pomelo exprimidos. Creo que como mejora agregaría, yogurt en pote y dulce de cayote para que la gente pruebe y luego quiera comprar para llevar. La atención durante el desayuno siempre fue con la mejor onda y predisposición. Llenan termos con agua caliente. Para los que hacen la excursión del TREN A LAS NUBES no se preocupen por el horario del desayuno que se indica en la web, van a poder desayunar. No puedo dar detalles, lo sabrán cuando vayan. Creo que en el check-in deberían agregar una pregunta en relación a necesidad de dietas especiales.

El hotel cuenta con una bella piscina descubierta, más grande y profunda de lo que vi en fotos, en un entorno verde con quincho. También tiene jacuzzi y gimnasio. Dispone de un spa con cargo extra. Por cuestiones de seguridad, recomiendo al hotel indicar la profundidad de la piscina al costado o sobre la misma.

Ahora lo más importante, quienes hacen que todo sea posible! La atención fue súper cordial y atenta en todo momento. Agradezco la buena onda y atención de Nahir y su compañero en el comedor que le ponen toda la garra para recibir a los hambrientos huéspedes, la asistencia y excelente trato de Facundo y Oscar en el lobby, la diligencia y gran trato de Mariana en recepción. Sólo mencioné algunas de las personas que conocí y de las que llegué a saber su nombre, pero realmente todos hacen un gran trabajo cada día. Agradezco también a todo el personal del servicio de limpieza por la buena onda y minuciosidad en su trabajo.

We stayed at the Hotel Salta in the beginning and end of our trip to the region; the first room we had was smaller than the second, most notably that the bathroom was so small that the door banged into the toilet and the shower curtain stuck to you while showering. The second room had a much larger bathroom and shower.||||Both rooms were nicely appointed and a decent size; it is a full service hotel including front desk/reception, elevators, laundry, etc. There is also secure parking so you don't have to rely on street parking. The hotel is centrally located in Salta to the market, churches, etc.||||The breakfast was the best of our entire trip - a whole table of breads, mezzalunas, rolls, etc with jams, dulce de leche and butter. Cheese, ham and prosciutto were also offered along with scrambled eggs. Coffee, hot water and hot milk as well as a couple of kinds of juices were available.
