The hotel had a pleasant interior and it was clean and presentable.||||We were given a room with twin beds and upon questioning this we were given a room with queen bed. However there were a few problems with towels to our room, but finally all was sorted out.||||There is no lift in this hotel and no porter so you have to take your own luggage up stairs to your room.||||Our room was not large, there was no A/C, no complimentary water, no coffee facilities, no shower gel or conditioner.||||There was, however, free WiFi.||||Our shower was reasonable, although we did have difficulty in adjusting the pressure and there was a leak at the top of the shower head that obviously affected the water flow.||||A massage service was available, of which my wife took advantage of. The cost was 10,000 AMD ($30 AUD), which is extremely reasonable as to compared to prices back home.||||The hotel's location overlooks the town's "lake" and walking into the town center is about 10 to 15 minutes.||||Breakfast was okay, with a few different options, but overall, typical of what we had in Armenian hotels.|| ||We also had dinner at the hotel's restaurant. It is a large single level room, no decor, bland in its presentation.||||Very large menu and beverages list. Our table service was great, with the lady servicing our table, very friendly and helpful. although there was a language "barrier".||For dinner we had BBQ lamb, bread, Greek salad, 2 glasses of wine and 1 beer.||The food was enjoyable, the cost was inexpensive ($36AUD) and we thought this was the best of what we had experienced at...
Read moreThis hotel basically has most everything going for it - great location around the lake, near a forest, pleasing architecture, modern, clean with decent rooms and restaurant. So, the main question remains as to why they would build right next to a huge building that dwarfs it and is completely in total ruins and looks like it has been for some time?! They gets points for the audacity of doing that and it is actually pretty comical as I have never seen anything like it in my life and am not ready to forget "Verona Resort". Perhaps that is just the point. I took photos of the view from our room because you have to see it to believe it. So, if a lake view is important to you then be sure to ask! If they tell you they have prime views of the ruins then know these are not charming archeological ruins of...
Read morePretty run-off-the-mill hotel, typical 3-star. None of the staff spoke any English, but tried to assist where possible. There's no lift, but I got room #3 which was easy. OK standard room with double bed ; housekeeping had left the pillow covers off, which exposed the grubby pillows. Very basic room and same for bathroom : small, with tiny shower with plastic, leaky doors and no toiletries, worn out grey-ish towels. No need to log in to wifi, but very weak.|Breakfast was a highlight : a good choice of fresh food. Wonderful yoghurt, cornflakes & jam, pre-omelette, with cheese, tomatoes, bread, butter. Pancakes & different cakes. The lady looking after it was the same as was running dinner in Terrace Restaurant opposite and...
