Nice Rooms and Great Location, But Serious Safety Issue for Families
The Beri Hotel has a lot going for it — it’s in a great location, and the rooms are modern, clean, and well-appointed. We were genuinely looking forward to our stay and initially impressed by the presentation of the hotel.
However, our experience was significantly let down by a serious safety concern. We arrived late at night with our 1-year-old to find the baby cot we had requested was broken and completely unusable. A crucial slat in the mattress base was missing, meaning if a child were placed in it, they would fall through onto exposed framework below.
When we politely raised this with the night reception staff, the response was simply, “Sorry, we don’t have an alternative.” No apology, no attempt to find a solution, and no sense of concern for our child’s safety.
The next morning, I raised the issue again with a different staff member who was far more empathetic. They apologised and said, “Oh, they must have used the broken cot that we had in the laundry.” That comment was concerning in itself — why was a known broken cot even accessible, let alone given to guests with an infant?
We appreciate the apology from the morning staff, but unfortunately, the damage was done. Safety for children should never be an afterthought.
This hotel could be great, but if you’re travelling with a baby or young child, I’d strongly recommend bringing your own travel cot or at least ringing ahead and quoting this review so that you don’t get stuck having a sleepless...
Read moreWe booked Accommodation for 2 Adults to stay in a King Deluxe Room with a Balcony. When we arrived the Reception handed us a key to a supposedly King Deluxe Room and told us where it was right out the back in the corner near the new Pool. When asked about the Balcony we were told it is on ground level. That is not a Balcony that is a Patio. The view we had was looking directly at the back of the Footy Score Board. The Bar Fridge barely had anything in it. The shower screen full of mould at the bottom. No phone to ring Reception area. No "Do not Disturb signs or Please clean my Room" or any Visitor information. It is not a Deluxe Room far from it. We have stayed in the Standard Rooms before and to us it was just Standard. The Carpets were not clean either and Dust under the Bed. There were alot of Bugs especially Mosquitoes in the room. Husband is Asthmatic and it effected him. I'm really disappointed to say the least. One of the Female Bar attendants didn't smile and had very dry attitude, must of had a long day, don't work as a Bar Attendant if you don't have Customer Friendly Attitude. Sorry but not happy this time round. I would say the New Villas is where you have mainly focussed...
Read moreShower was mouldy and not just recently, old mould as well as new. There was also pubic hair in the corners of the shower. Suffice to say, I did not have the shower I was really looking forward to after a long day. Other people's garbage was in the bin when I arrived. Fixtures didn't work, some lights that worked initially just failed for no apparent reason while I was sitting under them. Basin was cracked, no tissues provided, unable to enjoy the seating outside my room due to multiple ashtrays and smokers either side of me. I think this must be one of the last remaining hotel/motel premises that allows smoking onsite, certainly the first one I've seen in the last 10 years, everywhere else I've been they make the smokers go off the premises, not just right outside other guests doors.||||I left the above review on the booking site and the hotel gave the same responses they've given every time someone complains about cleanliness; sorry and we'll look into it. The also said sorry for the electrics and that they'd look into it. Generally they just brush off complaints so again, I would not advise anyone to waste their money here as it will ruin your trip if your experience is anything...
