Black Diamond Motel — Hotel in Blackwater

OK what's the deal?...I stayed here in 2021, roughly Number 4 room which is towards the front of the building. The room was immaculately clean, excellent quality linen & I remember thinking it was modern décor & I would highly recommend it. I was very pleased with the the room and the price was under $100, ($90) from memory. Even the young man on reception was great.||Now 1 year later. I arrived, noone at reception'rang bell, again noone came out, owner/reception lady (though nice) comes rushing in the font door, she was down the road with hubby (even though I had called ahead to say when I'd be arriving). check in was smooth & she's friendly. Gave me a room down the back, as I requested and let me park my long car in in the spot next door (room was empty) as it didn't fit in No 11. small parks, but undercover.||OMG what happened to the room. Old bedside table all scratched up, and the cleanliness was shocking. (see pics), phone has 6 months worth of dust on it. dead bugs and dust above bed. shower tiles and doors have accumulated that permanent (yet removable) yellow staining. There was a newspaper from Sep 2022 on top of the cupboard with a razor blade on... for gods sakes. The bathroom door hasn't been wiped down in months (again see pic). The jug either needs a good clean or replacing.|paper under the jug and toaster is stained and dirty, 1 bath towel has minor yellow stains on it, I didn't look at the other'. And the chair I sat on at the table was sticky.||COME ON! What's happened to this place? I can only assume it's new owners?|last year I would have recommended it, but not now. Certainly not worth...

Worse hotel ever. The only good thing was the comfortable bed and dog friendly. The lady at reception made a big deal about keeping the dogs off the bed which I fully agree with BUT don't tell me that and then give me a room with a shower that looked like it hadn't been cleaned in awhile. The glass in the fridge had lipstick on it. The bathroom towel had brown stain. And forget about trying to sleep with the air-conditioning on. The noise was unbelievable. It is also a motel where the workers stay so 4.00am they are up talking loudly and banging car doors. Would rather have...

Great value for money just needed somewhere to sleep! Clean and tidy. Air con was already on when we got there (yay had been a hot day) then the next day we had been out the entire day and again came home to a cool room. Phoned to make the booking as I had read a comment about it being noisy because of trucks and trains and asked for a room down the back, they were happy to oblige, however with the hum of the air con and a glass a wine didn't here a thing 😁😴.
