Blackwater Hotel Motel — Hotel in Blackwater

A trip to some local attractions had us contemplating staying the night. Decided to get dinner and made it clear that the food I ordered could not contain 2 items due to an allergy, they checked with the kitchen, ordered for everyone. Kids meals came out first, ok, everyone else's meals followed not long after. I checked my meal and it had some sort of herb and spice rub on the chicken which wasn't in the menu and when I asked them to check they said no again so I asked to check what they use. As travellers I can't risk having an allergic reaction which can put me in hospital. As chefs or cooks they should have read the ingredients and seen 'spices' listed and not risked it. They offered to make another one, that would be great, waited and waited, they made every other tables order and left my one till last. The conversions I heard while waiting with the inverted coma finger gestures about my allergy was extremely unprofessional also. It's not a choice, it is an allergy not an intolerance, maybe teach your staff some professionalism. Now if you mess up an order, you remake it asap generally. Everyone else had finished eating and we had to hit the road. So just got a refund. In the meantime while sitting and waiting the 2 girls serving were eating chips and gravy, kitkats, polishing cutlery without even washing their hands, licking their fingers, then touching the screen everyone touches, touching the cutlery, eating over the cutlery, touching the plates to bring food out. Don't waste your time at this lazy, filth pit.... also made our decision about staying final and we opted to leave the town and find somewhere...

Stayed in Blackwater Hotel Motel, room was not cleaned properly, lots of bug poo on window sill, and thick with dust, Window didnt close, Air con was like a steam train very loud, couldnt fill the jug unless you did it in the shower, light above bed didnt work, power point near bed didnt work to recharge phone, then to top it off NO Shower gel or Shampoo to have a shower, bed mattress felt every coil spring , tv cord wouldnt stay connected to tv, so kept losing signal so couldnt watch TV, Would never stay again, and giving you a 1 star as there is nothing under that , very dissapointing after working hard all day to come back to one of your units and put up with...

In the last few months, the food here has gone down hill. Today would have to have been the worst pub meal ever. From a dry well over cooked rump to a near raw pizza base, how hard is it.. Is it because of new cooks? Or maybe because we disrupted what sounded like a few staff members having a way too loud conversation out the back. There is no way we would send our food back to the kitchen, hear too many stories about that, so we put up with our beef jerky and took the pizza home to “cook” in the air fryer.
