I will continue to update as i go but as a top contributor I’ll say this upon check in.
Not so good: 1. Communication - I had requested an adaptor/extension lead for close to bed which they said would be organised, and though I’d brought my own it wasn’t even mentioned upon check in nor in the room when i got in there. Check in - they were 20 mins late and I’d got there a little early and they did know i was there. I was told to leave and go back to reception ten mins later. Went and had lunch instead but upon returning had to still wait till 2.20pm. Dripping tap in bathroom. Terrible waste of water. Big drips. I mentioned it a couple of times. I then sent this message via booking.com and am now getting a reaction, in fact, fixed! Lovely handyman and the receptionist was really wonderful and unnecessarily apologetic. TV apps (Prime etc) need updating but appears to only be able to be done from a mainframe. Remotes needed new batteries, reception, done in seconds. IF you can get into the code to view the room service it’s nothing like what is available at the bistro unless you’re into hot dogs and burgers (the bistro has a wonderful range of food) so I’d suggest uber instead. Wifi - after 6 pm a struggle, you just have to use data.
Pros - 1. Room - v nice with a balcony and well spaced out, also v quiet given the people and the club attached, with all you need including larger plates and cutlery for when you byo or uber. Membership to Tradies Club complementary, inc a small snack if you would like it. But as i said above the ‘click here for room service information’, just will not work and when i did get it to, it was poor choice. Soup for me! That was good (I’d bought it in case). Uber or Coles at the corner along with Woollies if you choose not to eat downstairs (personally, i would check all reviews for the restaurant here on Google first)! Parking excellent. Cameras and security v v good. Staff very polite and sweet. The receptionists are fantastic. Absolutely lovely and so helpful. I’d go back just because they’re v attentive and friendly. In fact I have to go back cos i had a list and still loads to see! I hear the blossoms in spring...
Read moreClean & Basic. No frills whatsoever. Lacked: no pen & paper, no WiFi info. No power points near the desk, only 1 power point between 2 Queen beds. No USB points or wall chargers for any devices.
Aircon kept turning off during the night (no info). Nowhere to hang a long dress off the floor. Rooms are much older and darker than pictured. They feel tired. That didn’t bother me too much, but my friend was quite disappointed by her room, saying it wasn’t worth the price. Conversations of those down the hallway and outside can easily be heard, luckily it’s mid-week and parliament isn’t sitting.
Car parking is very tight, they explained to drive all the way around to the double lifts by reception as other lift doesn’t work. (1 out of 2 receptionists could communicate.) Room on ground floor (Level 1) was most convenient as I could easily duck out the side door to a few external parking spots. Parking appears almost full and it’s a quiet week.
The cleaning crew simply hand-washed my dirty bowls and cups in the bathroom sink when I asked for clean ones. I don’t even know that they had fresh gloves for the entire job. One cleaner stayed in the bathroom washing up and then cleaning the bathroom whilst the other got fresh supplies and used a tea towel to dry up. I imagined in a post-COVID world we had learnt to properly sanitise and disinfect, but it’s clearly too much hassle to take them away to a dishwasher. The bathroom glassware was not exchanged. It’s upsetting as my son has a snotty cold so I wanted clean things. Thankfully they didn’t put them back in the cupboard at least.
Good things: there is enough space to open out suitcases. There is a small microwave and toaster, along with some plates and bowls so you can easily have some simple meals in the room. There was plenty of pillows provided, both soft and medium. The beds and bedside tables were reasonably comfortable, clean and practical.
The location is convenient. There’s a Maccas, Coles, Woollies, Bakers Delight, and various Asian eateries within a few short blocks walk. We also found a nice hairdresser and a nail salon within a...
