We who are blessed to call Canberra home are spoiled for choice when it comes to dining. From the fresh markets to the gourmet restaurants to the seemingly endless supply of delivery services, almost any culinary whim can be satisfied instantly. It is in this cornucopia of quality that we sometimes overlook the dining experience as a whole. Good service and great tasting food is such a standard in the capital that we often take it for granted. I invite you then to take a moment and recognise the simple quality that comes from 7 Village Indian in dickson. An experience so good it makes you sit up and notice.
One of many curry houses that grace the inner north, it outwardly appears quite the same as any other, but this establishment takes the quality weāre so voraciously accustomed to and turns it up to 11. Not so much as a napkin out of place. Simply, no notes.
The server was smart, charismatic and wise - taking careful note of details that pointed to dietary requirements, gave advice on portion size and operated with the kind of professionalism one can only dream of seeing up on the hill. The food, prepared so freshly that you could smell the aromatics before it even arrived, had everyone talking of nothing else as the evening went on. As the rain pounded the pavement outside, enjoying traditional makhani and paneer with naans so fresh they were hot to touch was extremely relaxing. I could go on, and on⦠and on. If you are a fan of the dining experience as a whole, then surely like me you will be returning to 7 Village with as much urgency as one's wallet and...
Read moreI have ordered über eats a number of times from this establishment, and mostly everything has been fine except for today when I order vegetarian biryani, Punjabi daal, kadhai lamb, and roti. When my food arrived, it was packed in a small paper bag, and the food felt heavy. Shortly after receiving the bag, the bag tore off from the bottom, and all the food dropped off. Luckily, I was able to salvage some food. I called the restaurant, and instead of listening to me, the lady, on the other hand, started justifying that it was not the restaurant fault but the über driver and cut short the call as she was busy. When looking at the good, I noticed that the biryani, which the menu states comes with raita, was not included with the food. I called the restaurant again, talked to the same person, and again, instead of listening to me, she said that they had run out of raita and raita is complimentary. There was no note with the order stating that they had run out of raita. Finally, when I did end up eating the food, daal was extremely salty and inedible. This was possibly the worst $85 I had spend on food and this will be the last time I'll ever eat at this restaurant as the whole experience was awful, not helped by a terrible...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe went there on 13/05/22. Ordered 2 Aloo parathas (cut in half each paratha) along with foods in the photo. My mother in law was having the paratha with curry so did not realise paratha's Aloo stuffing seems off until she tried on its own (last half of the paratha) without curry. So I called the customer service lady & the facial expression she gave was very rude when we informed her about the Aloo paratha & she said "Sorry so is that only half of the piece you found off as you ate the other parathas already" My hubby said politely we just wanted to inform you not asking for any discounts for the off parathas. She said the parathas suppose not to be off as the Aloo just made in the same evening. Being an ex customer service employee in the food industry I believe she could handle the situation in much polite way. Food was good, I would give 4 star but for that behaviour for the lady I am giving 2 star. One feedback to the lady if she get to know about this review please work on your attacking facial expression & be polite to your customers when they give feedback...
