Buchan Motel — Hotel in Gippsland

Great accommodation option in Buchan. The motel sits above and behind the township. Close to everything. Walking distance to the pub and Main Street businesses. A short (5 min) drive to the Caves Reception (so certainly a short 15 min walk for people younger than us). The owners are super friendly and happy to help. Ran out of gas when bbqing but they quickly organised a new gas cylinder. Rooms are new and spacious. Complaints if any, could hear the live music from the pub (didn't bother me at all but others claimed to have heard it. Low level problem). Not much bench space so you need to juggle your plates, cups, etc. when getting your meal together if eating in. Only sink is in the bathroom so that's where you'll wash your dishes but once you get your head around it, not a big deal. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. Clean, spacious and convenient. Lovely hosts. Generous breakfast provisions and they were willing to provide gluten free options. No complaints. Loved it. Close to...

"Lets go to Buchan " we said "Lets see the Caves " we said And what a beautiful weekend we had too Ally and Wayne along with Karen at the Buchan Motel made sure that would happen The motel location is a prime position on the hillside raised above the township with a short walk into the town if required And a lovely 30mins walk to the caves which are a magnificent experience The suites are so positioned for you to be awoken with the sunrise at the end of the bed...... Which then leaves you to have "breaky" on your balcony in the serenity of watching grazing wallabies whilst listening to the Kookaburras laughing at you still in your PJ's along with a guest appearance from next doors chooks pinching some toast It was a magnificent stay and will surely stay again in the not to distant future even for the therapy of Buchan and the surrounding country side Thank you...

Pros Great location Friendly hosts Free continental breakfast Nice views Split system Cons Lots of mosquitos in our room we had to seal up gaps to stop them entering , being from the country I understand bugs and insects are a part of life but they were getting in due to the large gaps. Cold draughts - large gap under front door, right hand side of glass sliding door , and the toilet? Made the room very cold we had to have the split system on our whole stay.
