I was not optimistic initially but needed to stay due to needing to be close to the Northern Hospital. I have stayed at many hotels mostly 5 star and this has impressed ne beyond words. The service is exceptional. Room service top notch. Everything is amazing. I required access for a disability and wheelchair and yhe room and bathroom is the best by far. All staff have gone the extra mile but special mention needs to go to Kam and Kenneth. They deserve acknowledgement by the hotel as best employees and better than exceptional service. They gave a gym and the only thing that could add to the hotel would be an indoor pool. A centre is close but I enjoy a swim and spa. The service has made up for it. The rooms are spotless and the bathrooms are impeccably clean. Ample space for luggage. Beds are extremely comfortable and the views are amazing. I have a queen room and it's exceptionally laid out with great decor. If I cone back I'd like to upgrade to a suite just for the experience. Well worth the money. Price is very reasonable for what you get. I stayed at peak times and rates. Breakfast is fresh and all food requirements are catered to with respect. 100% satisfied. If you have special needs or a disability this is a must to stay at. If you don't you don't regret any of the options or service. Will happily stay at a Mantra again if they are all this standard and I would never usually consider it. Again Kenneth and Kam gave service that would be the envy of all the man 5 star hotels in Australia nationally that I've stayed at. It's close to the city and northern country side so a perfect location if you're visiting Melbourne or Victoria. Thanks for a wonderful stay under challenging circumstances...
Read moreBooked a room for Saturday night which was supposed to sleep 4 but after checking in and getting up to our room we discovered that the room only had one large bed so me and my daughter had to share a bed. Upon checking in the staff at the counter asked that we pay a $100 refundable bond and assured us that the bond would be released on day of check out but 5 days later we still haven't received it. Room amenities were scarce with them only providing one tiny soap and one tiny bottle of Shampoo which was barely enough to wash 2 peoples hair. The buffet breakfast the next morning was poor. Only a very limited selection with no buffet staples like pancakes or baked been or even hot chocolate on offer. Also for the $279 for one night you'd think they'd offer more than free to air TV or even offer guests a discount on beverages or meals at the bar/bistro. Even budget chains like nightcap offer a complimentary drink and a discount on meals at their...
Read moreThere are a number of reasons why I would not recommend the Mantra. Firstly the rooms are TINY, no available storage, only free to air TV and wifi that is basically unusable.
The service was shocking, they do not care, or go out of their way to make sure your stay is a positive one. House keeping was poor, had to ask on a regular basis for coffee, tea, towels etc. My parents also go locked out of their room and had to go downstairs to get the card reactivated.
We requested an extra chair, you only get one chair in your room, there were 3 of us. Got told no extra chairs which I highly doubt given the 400+ rooms and restaurant/bar downstairs. We couldn't eat or even sit in the room unless it was on the bed. The staff in general were rude and very unwilling to solve any problems. Will not be returning or recommending the...
