Trader Restaurant — Restaurant in Melbourne

Went there on Saturday 24/08/24 for my hubby's birthday breakkie. Buffet was ok but what was disappointing was the Asian lady cook who seemed annoyed when I went to check if they would make fried eggs... she seemed she didn't like her job.. she didn't even let me finish asking my question & she cut me off saying that I could just take that plate which had 2 eggs and previously ordered by someone else. Well, the plate sitting by her windows niche had eggs but not fried eggs!! When I told her I wanted well done fried eggs she looked unhappy but took the order & when the eggs came they weren't good enough for a restaurant's type..my son my hubby n I we all agreed that we make better ones at home & we had better ones at other restos. Another girl came running after my hubby who'd returned from bathroom treating him like he hadn't paid for buffet without entering... honestly zero sense of professionalism. The staff don't know how to smile at customers & how to behave in hospitality industry. U go to a local simple Cafe u get better warmth service...

I would suggest maybe a regional manager or someone else come check it out- without telling the staff you are coming.

The food is poor quality, the half of the fruit was bad, the eggs was so sloppy that it was not eatable, mushrooms hard as a rock and the toast machine basically didn’t work… I was taking my partner out for a quick nice breakfast after treatment at the hospital. I would be dissatisfied if I was a customer of the hotel frequently, or a local etc. On the bright side the staff was nice(one nice lady) the tables clean and atmosphere was nice... Would not recommend. Go to anywhere but here...

Bought a two course meal and wine deal from Groupon. From the moment we arrived at The Trader both the person in charge and our wait staffer Luigi were attentive, polite and helpful. The food was very well presented, hot and delicious. The wines were of a lovely quality and crisp on the palette. The desserts of chocolate ice cream and peanut butter slice and ice cream were a perfect end to a our dining experience.The restaurant has a fresh and modern feel and the glassware and the cotton napkins were a classy touch. I would recommend this restaurant that no doubt will grow in...
