As people who have stayed at hundreds of B & Bs in a number of countries, we have a fair idea of what constitutes a good one. We are quite discerning and research well before booking. We felt this B & B did not meet the standards many Tripadvisor reviews seem to indicate. On the positive side the room was nicely done and the king bed and bedding was comfortable, albeit a little soft for our liking. The room was very quiet being at the back of the main house and away from traffic noise. The location is good and offered easy options to visit local areas of interest. Wi-Fi worked well, good sized bathroom and a sizeable fridge were also positives, as was an efficient a/c for heating.||On the other hand, things didn't start well when two phone calls for booking (with messages left), were not returned. We followed up with an email as last resort and a call was returned. We weren't happy about having to leave our car on the street, on a bend of a very busy road. After discussion, we were allowed to back our car into a steep and narrow driveway, which we found more comforting, but not very convenient, especially in the dark. The steepish pathway down the side of the house, especially with all the leaves on it and minimal lighting at night, was quite slippery in the rain and care had to be taken. The room was neat and clean - up to eye level - but I suggest the owners look above that in their cleaning. Especially the bathroom 'Tastic' which I doubt had been attended to in a long time. Breakfast was basic continental but sufficient for our needs, and the heater in the dining room was welcome on the cold mornings.. The tea selection was an outstanding feature with about 20 different varieties available. It seems that the owners are trying to run this B & B as well as other businesses and the two are not quite gelling. We never got to meet Alyse in our two nights stay, but Shane was accommodating enough. Overall, we feel this B & B was too expensive for the offerings - second dearest of the 8 we stayed at on this trip and didn't rate near the better and generally less expensive ones...

There was no parking on the property, however plenty room on road outside the accom. ||The ambience and peacefulness is what struck us from the time we walked down the side path to the rear of the house, beautiful gardens, much birdlife and lovely places to sit and ponder or share a bottle of bubbles with friends.||We stayed in the brown room, omg the bed was large, warm and so comfortable that it made me want to snuggle under the covers and sleep for a few more hours.||At night the garden area is lit up with many solar lights and fairy lights, it was a memory back to childhood when life was so much more simple.||||Alyse, our host was attentive and very friendly, there if we needed anything, otherwise quite discreet. Breakfast each morning was a delight, choice of muffins, crumpets, fruit bread, grain bread and yummie warm crossiants. Large selection teas, coffees. Beautiful afternoon teas. There was Port and chocolates in our room which was very enjoyable before drifting of to sleep.||The distance to Bowral and Mittagong was minimal, walking distance if one wished. ||The price was comparable to other B n Bs in the area, however I feel we were treated rather special. ||I have no hesitation in recommending this delightful accommodation, especially if one wishes to leave the stress and everyday life that we all seem to be...
Read moreYou would have to be hard pressed to find a B&B better than this place...actually, you'd be hard pressed to find any place better to stay than here. The Jasmine Room, where my wife and I stayed, was exceptionally well presented and had such a wonderful feel about it, and the king-size bed was amazingly comfortable. Everything from the tranquil garden that you could enjoy out the back and oversee from pretty cool rocking chairs on the balcony to the beautifully laid out courtyard to the breakfast / kitchen area was tastefully decorated from the heart. Also, I highly recommend getting the cooked breakfast... the best bacon and eggs I've had for a very|long time.||But all this had nothing on Shane and Alyse. They are the perfect couple to have a B&B and are warm and friendly without being overly so. They knew just when to stay and enjoy a conversation and when to leave you to enjoy their place that they have obviously worked hard to make it into the special place that it is. ||So my wife and I will be recommending this place for a perfect couple's weekend away, and we can't...
