This is a nice Motel. A little effort has been made to offer a comfortable and appealing room so on arrival everything looks great. ( I did notice that the once lovely potted Ficus trees had been severely deprived of water and now resembled dry sticks in pots. ) that saddened me ! Everything in the room works well and is functional. They ask top dollar for this room $ 135 , discounted from $145 as I asked if they could meet my budget of $120 , not to be , ok , I was tired . |Bed was comfy , tv and heating worked , decor good , quiet location friendly reception . Thing I noticed was that there were some areas attention had not been paid to in cleaning details . Such as someone else’s hairs on the shower wall, the base of the taps needed a good scrub with Gumption and a toothbrush , the plastic sink plug needed a soak in bleach and scrub. One decor pillow had a sticky mark/ substance on it easily removed with a sponge . The bathroom floor looked like it had been wiped with a dirty mop or rag as there were smear marks over it. |I felt a bit sad that the housekeeping was not being checked or monitored by management properly because this is a nice motel . |I did mention this to the gentleman on reception in the morning and he was graciously receptive to my comments . So I only hope for the benefit of the business this will be taken on board . It is not a big deal to get the cleaning right , of course you need to employ the right staff to get this very important part of it right. Especially for $145 a night would...
Read moreI'm on a circa 4000km road trip of the eastern seaboard of the country, I had an overnight stop at Nowra before continuing on to Sydney.
Marriott Park Motel was very reasonably priced, no fuss with organising a booking online and the check in process was very easy. The staff are very friendly, fill in a form, get your key and away you go.
There's plenty of parking, but you might not necessarily get a park right in front of your unit for the night which is no problem.
Location wise it's just off the highway on the right side if you're coming from the south side of Nowra, for us Victorians doing the drive up NSW's beautiful coast it's very tempting to throw a U turn at the lights and come back up.... But it's illegal in NSW!
It's very close to restaurants and the 'CBD' of Nowra.
Facilities are good, the beds are comfortable, linen is provided, same with two towels, two face washers and the usual hygiene consumables.
There's new smart TVs and the AC works well.
Might get a little bit of noise from the nearby highway but if you're tired enough you'll sleep, don't worry.
Checkout was easy, I didn't even make it to my car before someone asked me if I needed help! How is that for customer service! Bit of a chat, handed the room key over and on my...
Read moreWhen we entered the room, we were hit by VERY VERY VERY strong smell of insect spray or cleaning spray, similar like baygon spray. We tried to open the bathroom window and turned on the AC all day, but at night when we came back at 9pm, the smell was still very very strong. The longer we stayed in the room, the worse we became. We both got allergic reaction, runny noise, itchy eyes, and we couldn't sleep at all. At one time I was thinking to sleep in the car. When the morning came, we quickly went for a 5km run around the hotel and the park to get sweaty to get rid of this allergic reaction. When we went back to the room to shower, the smell was less but still quite apparent, so after 30 minutes in the room, the allergic reactions came back. Then quickly we showered and checked out. In summary we only stayed one night but this was by far the worst motel we've stayed. They should either use better cleaning products or air out the room at least a day. I understand that it may not be possible if the room was occupied the night before. But seriously something need to be done, otherwise your guests will feel suffocated and may have allergic reactions to these strong insect or cleaning...
