Misleading and deceptive information during booking. I did not see any description of the room during booking. After booking, the receipt shows the name of the room is Junior. I emailed the property and asked the size of the bed and whether it can accommodate 2 adults. After a few repeated emails, I received only an answer saying, "It can accommodate 2 adults." It turned out the room was very, very small. There is only 1-foot space on 3 sides of the double bed. There is only about 4ftx6ft space on the 4th side of the bed. There are no chair, table, no space for walking if you have 4 pieces of luggage. The room has the shape of a slice of a pizza slice. Small lamps are full of dust. Closet does not have room to hang clothes. The bathroom doesn't have a counter for toiletries. Attached photos show it all. The property emailed me on the check-in date saying that the room is Premium. That was clearly a lie. Update: I searched Medusa web sites on Junior room. All photos (attached) of Junior room show rooms with at least 2ft space on both sides of the bed. Some photos show enough room for a table and chair. That is misleading and deceptive. The room I got was nothing like these photos. The room number is 208. Update: attached is the photo of the email saying the room is Premium. That is a lie.

Very friendly welcome, and the room was waiting for us with beautiful, soft, classical music playing and was lovely and cool. Very well appointed with a cupboard containing tv, audio, kitchenette with sink and microwave, tea, coffee etc, fridge, bin, ironing board, behind various doors. The bed was very firm and the air con seemed to have some sort of schedule that I could not work out how to change. It was on cool when we arrived then changed itself to heat after a few hours. It would not give me the option of cool at all, only heat or fan, so we left it on fan and slept with the windows open for a breeze. Some time in the early hours of the morning it changed back to cool and I woke up cold and had to close the windows and adjust the temperature. Not sure what that was all about but it wasn't worth me waking anyone up to worry about. We stayed here to see Bruno Mars at Allianz Stadium and found the walk there and back went quickly and wasn't too difficult even at night. Overall a good experience.

This place is such an absolute gem. If you have the opportunity to stay here, do. They’ve clearly remodeled these rooms with luxury and guest comfort in mind. Dyson blow dryers in the rooms, lighted make up mirrors (gasp) and the whole place smells incredible. There’s a gorgeous internal courtyard for morning (or afternoon) coffees and you’re within a one minute walk from incredible cafes, restaurants, and even a local vintage night market every third Thursday. The staff as well were so friendly, you really feel like you’re staying at a small 5 star retreat. I’d shared in my booking that I was coming from a terrible Airbnb experience and they had a bottle or rose waiting for me at check in and made sure my room had a tub so I could soak my troubles away. Can not recommend it enough. They also have beautiful ground floor rooms if accessibility is an issue, but there are a few (maybe 8?) steps leading into the building to be aware of. Can’t wait to stay here again on my next trip to Sydney.

Ophidiophobics might not make the Medusa their first choice of hotel in Sydney (the decor is very much on theme, with a particularly grim painting in the sitting room and a snake-haired bronze head in our room) but otherwise the place is without fault. There’s no lift, and we were on the top floor, but the delightful and effervescent Jesse welcomed us and wafted our two cases - a total of 37 kg! - up the stairs as if they contained nothing more than helium balloons and hummingbirds in flight. Thanks for your care and welcome!||The room was quiet and spotless and we valued the coffee pods and coffee bags, as well as a selection of tea bags. The complimentary Maltesers and wine were an unexpected blessing. The aircon was insistent that we check the menu in relation to some fault or other: no idea how even to start doing that, but the aircon worked so it can’t be a major issue. WiFi was fine. ||Comfortable bed but watch yourself on the frame - it’s wooden, has hard edges, and projects out beyond the mattress. Ouch, barked shin, but I doubt I’ll scar and it will teach me not to be careless. ||No food at the hotel - we recommend Rusty Rabbit for breakfast (the café, not as an ingredient) and Fortuna or Elettropizza for supper. But there are many many eateries close by in this vibrant suburb.||Travel to the hotel - whether from airport, Bondi or the harbour - is easy by bus or train: there’s a stop just outside for the half- hourly 511, but none of the other options are far away. If using Google Maps note the plethora of types of travel: T= train; L = light rail (tram); B = bus and M = metro. Depending on time of day some options are faster...

The hotel has been newly renovated so it was absolutely beautiful. Every room is eclectically decorated right down to the finest and most sensational detail. The wallpaper, carpet, beds, linen, EVERYTHING was outstanding. It was the perfect temperature, obviously double-glazed windows because it was completely peaceful once windows were sealed; water pressure was perfect; Aesop hair and body products were a delightful surprise; the Dyson hairdryers took it up a notch. The communal courtyard was stunning; as was the beautiful coffees/teas, filtered chilled water, and choc-tops available whenever you wish, as well as a beautiful fruit bowl filled with bananas and crisp and fresh apples. I travelled to Sydney with 2 colleagues to hold an event locally. The whole experience at this boutique hotel was absolutely beyond expectation, and the staff couldn't do enough to accommodate whatever wishes we had - whether it was offering to chill our alcohol (for an event we were holding externally), and organising the airport shuttle (which was half the cost of a taxi!). Oh, and we stayed when Sydney was inundated with torrential rain so umbrellas were offered complimentary. We can only imagine that the Medusa Hotel would be even MORE sensational if the weather was lovely, to fully take advantage of the retractable roof in the courtyard. We will DEFINITELY be booking again - every time we...
