I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Social Hotel in Sydney, and it was an experience I won't soon forget. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by a warm and welcoming staff that set the tone for the entire visit.
The standout feature of The Social Hotel is undoubtedly the staff. Their commitment to making guests feel at home is unparalleled. They are not just friendly; they go above and beyond to ensure your stay is as enjoyable as possible. Their local knowledge and willingness to assist with any request make for an unforgettable stay.
Cleanliness is a top priority at The Social Hotel. The rooms are not only spacious and tastefully decorated, but they are also spotless. You can immediately tell that the hotel takes cleanliness seriously, which is a comforting feeling, especially in the current climate.
The location is another major plus. The hotel is strategically situated, putting you within walking distance of many of Sydney's iconic attractions, dining options, and shopping. It's the ideal base for exploring the city.
My stay at The Social Hotel was nothing short of perfect. If you're looking for a place that offers exceptional service, cleanliness, comfort, and convenience, this is the place to be. I can't recommend it highly enough – you won't be disappointed. I can't wait to return to The Social Hotel on my next...
Read moreI stayed in the hostel for about 2 weeks and I had a room on the first floor wich was good, it got cleaned daily and was in pretty good condition. Except the shower wich was old and leaked water all over the floor. On my first day I checked the downstairs kitchen wich is way to small and doesnt have any appliances. I also found some bugs in the cabinets. Naturally I moved my stuff to the third floor kitchen wich was bigger and nicer, but the fridges are always full and only 2 people can cook at the same time. A lot of people also dont wash their plates and pans and just put them into the sink wich clogs the drain so everything sits in dirty water. The kitchen gets cleaned twice a day though but it still sucks. It wasnt easy ti socialize as well because most people were already in groups but I guess I just got unlucky. The staff is very helpful and there are daily events for free food or activities to attend. Sadly on my last days I found a cockroach in my Bathroom..
Overall I liked it Pros: The beds are good Clean rooms Close to city center Cons: Loud noise till midnight Not very social if you travel alone Kitchen too small/ dirty Kitchen doesnt have enough...
Read moreI recently had a very disappointing experience with my booking at this hotel. I made a reservation for a friend traveling from Papua New Guinea, and while I overlooked the age restriction of 18-35 years mentioned on their website, the booking was confirmed after I provided all necessary details, including her birthdate.
However, on the day of check-in, my friend was denied entry because she is 42 years old. This situation is baffling to me. What difference does it make if someone is 35 or 42 years old when it comes to having a safe and comfortable place to stay? This policy feels like age discrimination, and it left my friend without accommodation after a long journey.
To make matters worse, the receptionist was arrogant and not at all accommodating. Rather than providing assistance or understanding, she dismissed my friend's situation with a lack of empathy. I expected better communication and more flexible policies from a hotel that caters to travelers. I would not recommend this hotel if you are over 35 or if you value fairness in accommodation policies. Disappointing...
