Railway Lodge Motel — Hotel in Taree

Rang at 6.17pm the guy answered - said he’s closed now. I said gee…that’s early any chance I can get a room and pay in advance and organise a key for when I arrive. He said ok & took my 1) phone number and 2) my credit card details said he would text key pick up details to me. He Never Did. and by the time we arrived I had not received a text & no missed call. Then when I arrived just after 9pm no one there. -I rang the night number and said I need the key. -He said he tried the credit card ‘three’ times and it was declined. -Tried also ‘apparently’ tried to ring me too but didn’t get through to me I suppose indicating my number was wrong. -I had no missed calls. -My hubby & I had the guy on loud speaker when I gave out the credit card numbers and also my *correct phone number. We both heard it was correct. -We ended up checking into another motel where funnily enough our credit card (the exact same one) worked perfectly fine at the next motel and was NOT declined at all! -If he tried my credit card 3/three times it should have triggered a stop on my card for possible suspect transaction. -That night I said to him that I would ring and check ?what card numbers he had & ?what phone number he had recorded for me so be warned I will ring back the next day. -I finally (after 4 tries) I nailed the guy down over the phone about what details he had recorded for me the next day - -Guess what he didn’t keep the piece of paper!!! Even after being warned I would ring and check! -Well then he treated my booking request like ??? …… So be warned. -Also the place has a big metal LOCKED-up gate around the reception area that is totally un-inviting (locked tight) at night. -No other motels in the area are like that. -We then stopped at the Taree Lodge Motel that luckily was still open at 9.15pm and we had a good bed and...

I’m so grateful for finding this accomodation. The managers ( Kurt and Tina) are super friendly , efficient, kind, funny and understanding. The room was clean, compact and cozy. Comfortable bed, great pillow and blanket! I’d love to see a microwave in the room though. So I can heat up something for dinner. The TV’s need reprogramming as in the three different rooms I have stayed in the TVs. I’m missing half the digital channels that are on offer for free Eg Bravo channel 7 group.,A little reminder or maybe a little A-frame notice on the desk about the breakfast on offer, would be good, because every time I stayed there I’ve forgotten that was on offer and apparently everyone’s raving about it LOL But other than that, it’s a stunning hotel with gorgeous history and breathtaking antiques and artifacts! Lots to discover!! Beautiful inside courtyard! Easy to find. Big spacious carpark. Very central to town! Ty do much for having me!! .highly recommended and a big thank you to the courteous Kurt and terrific Tina for hosting me on many occasions albeit for a sad reason. 😭😭😢😢 PS on a sidenote, all of your listings and posts on all social media platforms are either not there very old information or wrong contact details or incredibly confusing to find and hard to navigate.

I highly suggest consulting with a marketing consultant or team or group to come up with a marketing plan which will include your strategies, objectives and tactics to promote and increase sales with the hotel accommodation and include all above and below Line marketing advertising options opportunities etc. This will drive and increase your traffic to the hotel and hopefully increase your branding awareness and position yourself as a contender in the very competitive accommodation...

Room was extremely old & basic. The furniture was super outdated what furniture was in there . Bed & mattress need to be thrown out or burnt . So uncomfortable. Squeaked / moved with every movement. They had 3 paper thin old doonas , then a stained mattress protector covering the mattress .which was at a guess 30 years old . I super thin blanket on top of you. The fridge was not on. We found that out at 3am when our items were hot. The electrical work is questionable . Had to ask for towels . Now I understand it's usually a cheap place $90 but we paid $153 and were asked for CASH x3 nights As apparently it takes 4 days for transactions to come through. 🤔 We had friends stay here also and none of us would recommend staying here . So I recommend contacting caravan parks & other places. The lady working on her own was very friendly. But that's the only nice thing about this place. Very depressing...
