My stay at Mantra located at the Marina Hervey Bay, is such a relaxing place to stay, and get away from the every day. I booked this quaint room in the photos. The apartment was clean, and generous in space. The views are breathtaking, with views of the many islands in the distance.šŸ the ā›“ļø on the Marina. The weather was overcast, and had been slightly raining that day, hence the clarity of the pitchures towards the islands. Saturday we enjoyed celebrating Mum's Birthday, which was so lovely sharing with Mum her special day with some of the Family, gathered as we gazed over the marina with our šŸ„‚ & cheese enjoying the soft evening breeze that eased the humidity of the day, and brought a welcomed reprieve. A very huge! thank you to Jade, Claire & Jasmine for going above & beyond to make our stay so comfortable. I am so grateful šŸ™ Jade that you made a lovely room available as I requested, so we could all enjoy these breathtaking views. Location is Great! A short walk to the Boat Club where you can enjoy some of the delicious local seafood so fresh. There is a broad variety of food, from the menu catering for people who have gluten intolerance, wish vegan dishes also. There are lots of other restaurants & cafes around the Marina bringing a cultural flare to add to the vibrancy of the Marina. Some of Chinese, Indian & Spanish. When you Stay at the Mantra, you will have access to the Dock restaurant from within the resort. The Dock offers fabulous šŸ‘Œ tapas Thank You to all the lovely professional Courteous team at Mantra. My stay was such a lovely get away to celebrate Mum's Birthday. From Front of House to Housekeeping, Who have greeted ne every morning with a smile knowing hiw hard yiu all work in such humidity. My room was pristine clean. Phil from Maintenance thank you for your prompt attendance and sharing your stories of the floods, one of which your friend had a crocodile in his yard. Hope their okay now. Thank you all so much again for your professionalism & courteousy contributing as a team to make our stay Welcomed & Wonderful. šŸ™ 😊 🐬

I was drawn in by the beautiful photos of the Harbour View rooms and "private balcony." I booked for 3 nights hoping for a romantic long weekend... Our room was on the ground floor, right out front of the cleaners store room, the elevator and stairs. The room was extremely dark (with the blinds open), stunk, was filthy, the air con didn't work and the "balcony" was staring at nothing but a wall and a bit of the pool. We then tried to speak to a lady at reception about possibly being moved. Was met with no words a blank stair and then was ignored while she started typing on the computer. She then turned and walked off to bring someone else out who told us that we were going to be moved to a (supposed) upgrade "spa room." Our room was on the other tower but the exact mirror image of our first room. Same cleaners store room, elevator, stairs and this time a restaurant side entrance right our front. It's was slightly lighter and the air con worked (at least) but it was just as filthy and smelly. We also now had the pleasure of a disgusting spa in the room also. The bedrooms are right next to the entrance so we got to listen to every conversation of the restaurant patrons walking past our bed until late at night followed by the restaurant side door opening and slamming with every person. We got to listen to the other guests chatting as they walked by our bedroom window as they walked upstairs or took the elevator (all day). We also got to listen to the cleaners conversations and store room door beep from the fob, open and slam shut every 5 minutes from the early morning (the sun hadn't risen yet) until about mid day. What was worst, was the cleaners trolleys being pushed past our bedroom window which sounded like a train rolling past every 5 minutes. This was the worst experience we've ever had. I've stayed in cheap motels that are cleaner, have nicer rooms and with polite staff and even better views. I hope anyone who took the time to read this review and viewed the photos will now be deterred and saved from suffering a stay like we had.

Probably a nice hotel in its day but dated now and has some significant issues. An infestation of ants was one issue. On the first day we only saw a few but the next morning the tea making area was alive with them. A major issue is the doors which are all auto closers and which are extremely heavily sprung. An elderly lady on our floor had received a blow from one that resulted in a serious bruise to her face and she really should have reported it and sought medical treatment. With luggage they're a challenge for any fit and healthy person. The lifts are another oddity inasmuch as there is no ground floor - well, there is, but it's numbered 1, so on our first trip down the door open and you see a 1 on the wall and automatically think you still need to go down another floor. We saw others make this same mistake several times and one wonders how it gets through fire risk assessments without being changed to meet common standards. Lastly, the rooms are small and dark with an oddly large part of the space sacrificed for a spa bath instead of a more modern walk-in shower, and feels very expensive for what you get compared to other places we've stayed at on this trip up the east coast. If call this 3 star rather than 4. The location is quite good and is handy for things like boat trip, but the whole marina area is entirely separate from busier pier area. Other than the ants it's clean and the bed was comfy.

We have stayed at Mantra Harvey Bay at least 20 times in the past 10 years (usually for 3-4 days at a time) but never have we experienced a room like this. After requesting an upper floor as we usually do (knowing it may not eventuate) we were so disappointed after booking in. Not only were we on the ground floor beside the pool, but also opposite the housemaid’s cupboard, outside the Mantra meeting area for guests, outside the reception area, beside the walkway to the lifts and also the walkway to the car park entrance. This room was the noisiest room we have ever stayed in anywhere! We paid the same price for this badly positioned room supposedly a ā€˜marina facing’ room as we would for an actual ā€˜marina facing’ room on a higher level. Technically it was ā€˜marina facing’ but you could barely see any parts of the boats – definitely no water – misleading and deceptive advertising for sure!

There was absolutely no privacy at all! No blinds or curtains could be opened due to people in the pool being able to see straight inside and any windows along the side of the living room were in full view of any employees or guests entering the building. Leaving the blinds closed posed another problem as they were not fixed at the bottom and blew and banged on the wall and the window sill.

Every guest in this block returning to their rooms at night walked past our corner room on their way to the lift – many were very loud. Guests began swimming in the pool at 5:30 am and for over 2 hours on the Saturday afternoon a group of teenage boys continuously dive bombed into the pool. We pulled the outdoor setting into the room and even with the screen door closed and the curtains pulled, the water was still spraying into our room and wetting our laptops so even this door needed to be closed.

While the room had recently been refurbished we should have been told where this room was positioned when booking – the worst in the building with absolutely no privacy, as the price should definitely NOT have been the same price as a room on a higher level with some degree of privacy.

This deceitful allocation of a ā€˜marina facing’ room will certainly make us rethink any future stay at Mantra Hervey Bay. Being guests who travel regularly (up to around 30-40 nights each year) both overseas and throughout multiple states in Australia, we have never encountered a room advertised as deceptively as this. Without a doubt it has soured our opinion of this resort and its advertising and we would not recommend...

Will start with the good things. The best thing about this place is the pool. The staff are friendly too and are doing their best at keeping an old dog alive. The rooms have nice views over the marina too

The not so good things

Firstly the location sucks. We didn’t know Hervey Bay before coming here and couldn’t seem to find the best area to stay. We chose wrongly.. The nearest beach, Urangan beach, is about a 1km walk away and is probably the worst beach in the Hervey Bay. Driving takes longer due to the one way streets in the area.

The serviced apartment is old, tired, rundown and poorly equipt.

Front door extremely heavy to open very difficult and awkward when handling bags etc..

The kitchen is not equipt for making much more than a bowl of cereal or a piece of toast. Blunt knives, no cutting board. 4 basic plates and bowls. Charity shops would throw away better kitchen utensils than what is in this place.

There are only a small number of secure parking bays for tower 2 guests, nowhere near enough for the apartments. So plan on parking in the open air a few mins walk away. Not a huge deal unless it’s raining or you like parking in the full sun.

There is no exhaust fan in the bathroom /laundry. Yet if you open the bathroom door and set off the fire alarm from the bathroom steam they will charge you $1400..

The gym is not a gym. It is an exercise bike in a cupboard. A bench but no free weights and a cable machine with attachments missing off it and no room to even use it anyway..

There are 5 coat hangers in the wardrobe. The phone in the room had a broken cable in the handset. Water pressure in the bathroom vanity has been restricted for some reason..

There are no powerpoints next to the bedside tables to charge your phone at night. The charging ports on the lamps do not work..

With the exception of the bedroom the lighting is terrible in the apartment..

The bedroom is not air conditioned but there is a fan. The fan and the Airconditioner needs to be on all night just to keep cool.

Outside the bedroom there is an outside light which will keep you awake all night unless you wear an eye mask.

Terrible apartment. I will not stay here again.

PS: late...
