I have been here several times now and I love the service and the view but twice now I've ordered the Fresh Seafood Platter which has both times been beyond disappointing. The first time I put it down to bad luck and didn't say anything and thought I would try again. The second time however I did send it back to the kitchen with the bugs and prawns uneaten, the oysters were on point but the rest was inedible. I got the people I was with to try them also and not one of them would eat it either so it wasn't just one person's opinion. The plus side is that they offered me another dish and refunded the difference. The dish came out and it came out incorrect with crumbed instead of battered and the wrong oyster type but it wasn't worth the effort and I figured it was chef's way of sharing his feelings about my returning his dish to the kitchen. Now, I just want to share some advice from a long time local and someone who is a considered a foodie amongst my peers. You claim fresh seafood and the business is on the waters edge and within a stones throw of two great fisheries yet none of what you served was actually fresh. You are in a great position to get a name for yourself as a fine dining, fresh local seafood restaurant and I would willingly come back if you decide to make a change and serve good fresh seafood but until then not only myself but my colleagues and friends will be taking our business elsewhere. We had lunch here last week after we visited the turtles and aquarium on the other side. We sat out the back near the water on the verandah. The staff were tentative to take our order we were told it would take around 20 mins which we didnt mind. We did order a entre to start us off. They bought out my 5 yr old grandauggters meal fairly quickly that kept her busy eating our entre arrived 15 mins later and thats where it stopped. Other people came and sat down as it was the lunch time period. 40 mins past and no main meal. We watched people who sat after us around 10 mins after us get their meals. We had to eventually ask about our meals. The waiter went and asked and came back to tell us that there was a bit of a mix up and our meal will come out very shortly. We werent impressed due to the pricing of tbe meals. Ten miniutes later we finally got our meals. The photos show that there wasnt a huge crowd so it wasnt majorly busy for a lunch sitting. I should have read the reviews before mine... We had lunch here two or three times and it was ok. Today we would have liked to have lunch there again. Went in, told the waitress we needed a table with four chairs: for my wife, our son, one to put my son's bag and one for me. My son has a favourite bag with his things he likes to access frequently so we usually pull over a fourth chair in restaurants where available. It is part of the routine of eating out with a pre-schooler, trying to keep him happy. We explained the waitress that we need the fourth chair for my son's bag. I think that only one other table had some customers, all the others were free (including four chairs tables). The waitress did not even blink or made an attempt to accommodate our easy request and the answer came back on us:"Well, I cannot serve lunch to a bag!"
