Since the renovations the difference is very welcoming. Streamlined entry without having to sign in as a guest or otherwise. However still with a warm friendly person on hand at entry point for assistance with information or your other needs, awsome. New internal layout is superb, combined with the ability to be able to dine in any of the 3 areas without hassle is truly a stroke of genius. Food, well where to start. Mouth watering, delicious, cooked flawlessly, you actually get exactly what is described within the menu. It's moderately high pricing, however the quality of food more than makes up for that, serving sizes are matched. One of the best dining experiences I've had locally in recent memory, will be returning again. Impressive rethink of the whole dining experience from the club, avant-garde experience, congratulations to the club management 👏.

I was led to believe there was a bottle shop here so I went by late afternoon to check, the place wasn't exactly popping off. Both staff members at the front desk were pretty rude when asking about my lack of a mask. Frankly, they should be minding their own business. Regardless, after confirming that they did have a bottle shop, I was told I needed to have had a certain double medical experiment to access it despite the rules at the time stating you're allowed to enter bottle shop without said medical experiment. Odd that they wanted to know all about my medical status for one thing but didn't pause to think I may have had a reason for not having a mask. Anyway, saw this was getting no where fast with the rude pair at the door and decided to take my money elsewhere.

Went to this location to try and go out for dinner only to be stopped at the door before entering and not allowed entry in.

Lady at the counter told me that they have a no singlet and no muscle shirt policy after 6pm.

Thought is was a little strange but as I'm not a local I assumed it was just the norm so didn't argue and left my partner in the reception to wait whiles I walked a kilometre back to our hotel to change my top.

As I was on holiday the only shirt that I had was a fishing shirt so I threw it on and walked the kilometre back to venue.

Re entered the facility to find that there were at least a dozen woman all in singlet tops already seated, 3 in the foyer awaiting entry and one woman wearing a bikini with a wrap around skirt only half of which was covering her butt, the other half of her butt cheeks and crack were all out for the world to see.

After requestioning the lady at reception about their dress code policy she instructs me that their dress code only applies to men and not woman.

Discusted after hearing this, after walking 2kms in the summer heat and humidity I was pretty tired and irate for the experience that I had, felt absolutely humiliated by it all so we left the venue immediately to go somewhere else.

In a world where we have worked so hard for an equal opportunity and fairness for all, race, gender and sexual orientation alike, I have never felt more isolated and targeted as an Australian male in my life.

I cannot fault the lady at the front desk as she was only doing her job as instructed, and was quite polite in her requests. This is clearly an instruction from an outdated and incompetent management who needs to wake up, get out of the 1970's and get a real perspective on who we are as a country because this is NOT how you...

Food 9/10 Service 1/10 Atmosphere 2/10

Really disappointed with my experience at The Boat Club last night while out for dinner with family as The Boat Club was a family favourite years ago. When we arrived the lady at the reception desk was very rude and dismissive when we asked if we needed to book a table as it was busy, she scoffed that they didn’t take bookings. This was not a problem as there were lots of available tables at the time, we were a larger family so we sat on 2 separate tables. Most of the staff in the dining area were very rude and acted as if we were an inconvenience since we had arrived. There was a lady behind the bar that was abruptly taking everyone’s orders and just gave very negative vibes. The lady at the cashier abruptly asked for my ID when i asked her a question that wasn’t relevant to the gaming room (I’m 25 so i happily had it ready to go anyway). The food however was amazing and was served in large portions/good value for money and came very quick. It was a Saturday night and opening hours stay that closing time is 12am, it got to 9pm and a staff member from the dining area came over and she started cleaning tables as it was pretty quiet. Then we offered to move to a smaller table as some family members had left, the staff member scoffed and said “there’s no point now you’re already there”. We left shortly after this interaction and will not be returning to or recommending The Boat Club in the future which is very upsetting as this it was once a...

A really disappointing meal at a nice restaurant.

Headed out for a birthday dinner with the family, and the food was absolutely disgusting. Reviews read great but what we got was something else.

Paid for a dozen of kilpatrick oysters and there was hardly any bbq sauce on them, the amount of murky water still left in the oysters was so gross, we also ordered a Doven Chicken and Reef and Beef with garlic sauce! The steak was so water it was like it was cooked in water the “garlic sauce” i don’t even know what to say about it, it was absolutely foul I took one bite and nearly threw up the sauce was mushy and white as, it had no flavour and was like something out of a can was definitely not freshly made was revolting. 🤮

The doven chicken was really off putting the mushroom sauce was so foul I couldn’t take anymore bites. I was extremely upset we paid so much money. I ended up just having the side salad and chips. My family didn’t eat any of the other food either they all commented how bad the food was for the price we paid.

A lady walk over as we were leaving to ask us how our food was and we just said to her “ look it wasn’t worth $130+ “

Don’t think we will ever be back unfortunately drinks were super expensive too. Was a really bad experience for a birthday dinner. I...
