SkiVal and the Chalet:||||We stayed in Chalet Loori over the last week of Jan 2014, travelling as part of a group of 15 professionals.||||Flights and transfers with a combination of Monarch (from Manchester) and Aer Lingus (Gatwick) were uncomplicated. Group members travelling from Manchester to Innsbruck were redirected to Friedrichschafen due to bad weather and were easily accommodated on a different transfer bus. Well done Ski Val.||||Upon arrival we were greeted by our hosts Harry and Georgia who provided a great introduction to the chalet details and the town. The hosts proved to be a friendly and efficient team providing great service throughout the week. Thanks for putting up with our sometimes random apres ski antics!||||Food: Good continental breakfast with hot option (bacon/egg/mushrooms/toms) on the staffed days with croissants on the hosts' day off. Evening meals were great for a ski chalet. A four course meal was provided every night, with canapes and an aperitif in the lounge followed by thoughtful starters, mains and desserts. All ingredients seemed fresh and dishes well cooked. Portion sizes were ample, and Harry the chef catered for vegetarians and a lactose intolerant group member with ease. Ample free white (average) and red (good) wines were provided.||||Afternoon tea and cakes were available upon return from the slopes.||||Georgia ensured the chalet was always clean and tidy, and rooms were serviced every day.||||It was good to see Alex the resort manager popping in every now and again to check everything was ok and she organised a meal out for us when the Chalet team had a day off (Thursdays).||||The Chalet itself is reasonably modern and clean and tidy. Rooms were mostly twins/doubles with modern bathrooms and good showers. The sauna was used quite a bit for a post ski chill. The large living room features a big TV which we used for a few movie nights and the balcony was useful for chilling beers. There is a big staircase which connects all the rooms over about 5-6 floors. The ski locker is a bit more of a ski cupboard but in St. Anton people tend to leave their skis in a locker in the resort centre by the main lifts so this wasn't a problem.||||Apart Loori is located about 25 m from the ski bus stop offering busses into town for the main lifts every 10 mins or so. You can also get the bus to Lech from here but its pretty rammed out by the time it stops outside the chalet so better to head into town (start point) to guarantee a seat. It takes about 5-10 mins to walk down the hill to the main lifts.||||The Ski Area:||||We were fortunate enough to enjoy several snowfalls early in the week. If the snow is bad in St. Anton, or the pistes are crowded/too steep/too mogul packed then a quick trip to Lech or Zurs for wider easier skiing is well worth it.||||We can recommend the ski show as an interesting evening activity, although singing along to MJ's USA for Africa 'We are the world' was a bit too much for us at the end. The rest of the freestyle skiing/demoing was well worth a watch with a warm gluwein.||||We liked Scotty's bar for a drink. Mooserwirt and Krazy Kangaruh are on slope apres ski classics. Avoid Bar Cuba unless you are a footy lad. Anthony's is a bit more upmarket for drinks/pizza.||||We can recommend Jennewein or Fauner (SkiVal's partner) for hire. Be careful not to choose an online hire deal resulting in you having to go miles out of resort in order to save 20 or so euros. Its not worth the hassle particularly if you want to change equipment mid week.||||In all a top week, thanks SkiVal.||||PS. Not sure about the 1* reviews below. Must have been a bad team last year. We had...

I first visited the chalet when it was run by the now-defunct Ski Val and my return was hosted by Alpine Elements. The chalet is easily accessible from town on the free ski bus as the number 3 bus stops are about 200 yards from the chalet. The bus runs every 10 minutes at peak times until about 18.30 then reduce until 11 pm. after that taxi varies between 6 and 20 euro! The chalet sleeps 18 and all the rooms are clean, modern and well presented, all rooms are ensuite. There is also a separate dining room, lounge, boot room and sauna. The chalet hosts by two lovely girls Lottie and Livy. While the whole chalet had booked within two weeks of departure at heavily discounted prices, my only complaint is not with the girls but the marketing by Alpine Elements. They marketed the chalet as a premium plus chalet with breakfast, afternoon tea and 5-course meals. The breakfast was plentiful and the cakes tasty after a long day skiing, however, the evening meals, while they had 5 courses including warm bubble with canapes and port with the cheese the middle three courses, where the most basic I have had in over 20 years of staying in catered chalets, and far below the standard of my previous stay in the Lorri in 2017. I have never been server tortellini as the main course in all that time. Its a great chalet but unless Alpine Element pulls their socks up they may go the same way as Ski Val...

Well located chalet close to No3 route bus into Galzig. Good standard and sized modern rooms with en-suite. Good sized living room (ample for 18) and adjacent outside balcony. Dining and kitchen is a level down, set as two tables (8 and 10), again feels spacious. Boot room adjacent to to entrance has heated boot rack and ski rack. Limited space if you all want to get ready or come back at the same time! ||Alpine Elements have this chalet at the moment (wonderful Swedish owner appeared when we had a minor hiccup with the electrics) and run it well with catering perfectly acceptable - this is chalet catering remember - can’t understand previous review, if gourmet is required then go B&B and eat out every night, as the St Anton restaurants are excellent (this was our fourth visit to the resort). ||It takes about 15 mins to walk into town and a bit longer coming back! I’d recommend the bus (every 10 mins peak time) if wearing ski boots. Bus stop also serves Zurs and Lech so that was quite handy too. Would certainly stay here again. ||We’ve stayed near Nasserein on our previous visits - this end of town is more flexible even though you do really have to...
