Review Title: Terrible Experience – Ruined My Trip!
Rating: 1/5
I am beyond disgusted with my stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Baku. This was supposed to be a luxury experience, but instead, it turned out to be one of the worst trips of my life. From the moment we stepped into Room 908, everything started to spiral downhill. The room had an awful, suffocating vibe—something about it just felt wrong, almost like it was cursed. After a long flight, all I wanted was to relax, but the vibes were so bad that I couldn’t even sleep. It’s hard to put into words, but the energy in there was dark, heavy, and completely unsettling. It wasn’t just a bad vibe—it was toxic.
My partner and I, who share a deep and loving connection, ended up having a terrible fight on the very first day, and I blame that wretched room entirely for it. I’ve never felt such negativity in a space before, and it completely shattered the mood of our entire trip. We were supposed to be enjoying our time together, but instead, that room created an atmosphere of tension and frustration. I hated every single second I spent in that room, and the fact that we were stuck there for the duration of our stay made it even worse.
It was as if the room drained us both emotionally. The oppressive energy lingered every time we walked through the door. I don’t know how a room in a so-called luxury hotel could feel so cursed, but it did. It felt like we were walking on eggshells, trying to make the best of it, but it was impossible. Every moment in that room pushed us further apart instead of bringing us together, which is what this trip was supposed to be about—joy, relaxation, and connection. Instead, it became a nightmare, and it’s all because of this godforsaken room. I honestly can’t even look back on this trip without feeling rage because of how badly it was ruined.
What kind of “luxury” hotel allows such a negative, awful space to exist? It’s completely unacceptable. For the price we paid and the expectations we had, this experience was beyond disappointing. The Ritz-Carlton name is supposed to mean excellence, but this was anything but. That room ruined my trip, ruined my mood, and almost ruined my relationship.
Avoid this place like the plague! I will never forgive the damage this hotel did to what should have been an amazing getaway. If you value your happiness, your peace of mind, or your relationship, stay far away from this place. Ritz-Carlton, Baku, you have seriously lost all credibility, and I will never step foot in any of your...
Read moreFirst impression after arrival: I am not impressed at all. I am a Gold member, I travel a lot and stayed in many other hotels including Ritz hotels so I am comparing. I booked a Club Room. Not cheap.
First i want to say that I received a completely different treatment on arrival in Ritz Istambul. Seating was provided, welcome drink, room upgrade. Everything worked automatically. Not here.
Room: Room is big, but without a character. A lot of empty space. Don't expect good views as the location is not great.
Club Lounge: I am disappointed. No canapes, no cut fruit, nothing to nimble on. They provide an alacarte menu, but this is not the same as being able to get small things yourself. We waited over 40 minutes to get our order. Food was great and tasty but this is more of a restaurant than a lounge. At least they should have canapes and fruit ready to take that I don't have to ask all the time. The bar area looks more like a kitchen area. I don't like the lounge design at all. Clearly this is more of a conference place not a lounge. It feels like a big bathroom. A lot of empty unused spaces. It does not have a character. Uninviting and cold feeling.
Staff is great. Trying hard to provide great service.
The spa has a great large dry sauna and steam room. Its unisex which is great if you want to enjoy it with your partner. Swimming pool is also nice, but indoor. They have no jacuzzi which is a big minus. I believe jacuzzi should be in all the 5 star hotels because its fun and provide great experience for couples.
We cancelled our stay after one night and went to the Hilton hotel. If you ask me what you should book, book Hilton. It's a great hotel with great views and it is located within walking distance from the city center. The location makes a...
Read moreI recently spent a week at The Ritz-Carlton, Baku, and words still fall short. This wasn’t just a stay—it was an experience of elegance, kindness, and true hospitality.
Everything in the hotel felt quirky clean, squirky clean—like the building had been freshly constructed just for us. Every corner, every corridor sparkled with freshness and precision. The design is world-class, but what truly stands out is the soul of the place.
The breakfast? Impeccable. The chef didn’t just serve food—he offered kindness on a plate. He generously accommodated our requests, including preparing delicious Indian meals, which meant the world to us while traveling with kids.
Speaking of which—we were with four children, and not once did we feel awkward requesting anything for them. In fact, the hotel treated our kids as if they were part of their own family. From providing drawing supplies to making them feel completely at home, they won our hearts in every way.
The amenities are top-tier—but even more impressive is how approachable everything and everyone felt. The front desk staff were flawless, always smiling, always helpful. And let’s talk about that lavish grand piano in the lobby—every evening, a professional pianist would grace the space, transforming the mood into something magical.
Even the valet service was smooth and sincere. Not a single staff member had that ‘tip-hungry’ face—a rare and refreshing change. Everyone was genuinely hospitable, not transactional.
The guest crowd was upscale, the atmosphere sophisticated, yet warm and unpretentious.
There’s honestly so much more I want to say, but if you truly want to understand luxury at its finest, just book a stay at Ritz-Carlton, Baku. It’s not a hotel. It’s...
