Sumakh — Restaurant in Baku City

A better than average Azeri-style restaurant. Not touristy but still rather western in the sense that it follows the classic French dining experience (separate courses, white table cloths, staff clothing etc.). The milieu and ambiance are quite nice when the restaurant isn't too packed. The quality of service is much above most places in Baku, where the service can be a bit... stiff.

The food includes the Azeri classics and the execution is what you'd expect. Would definitely recommend as a place to go for those who want to taste Azeri dishes.

Naturally the price is also slight above the average Baku eatery. But I would say it's easily worth the price for those more used to Western...

Sumakh Restaurant was the ideal choice for my birthday. The atmosphere is beautiful, with luxurious interior design that felt truly special. My meal was fantastic: ARISHTA soup, LAMB BASDIRMA, and HOME-STYLE POTATOES, all perfectly cooked and delicious. My peach mojito was great too! A huge thanks to the staff for their exceptional hospitality and kind service. They made the experience truly memorable. Birthday dinner for 2.. I chose Sumakh for my birthday dinner as I wish for a finer dining experience.. Weeellllll it did not disappoint one bit. Welcomed at the door upon arrival.. taken to our table.. Presented with menu's by waiters impeccably dressed and courteous.. Wine list was presented and of course opted for local wine.
