Recently celebrated an anniversary by purchasing one of the RWB packages from their website. It was a great deal and overall good experience. But this property is no longer a Hilton property (which is why you can get a package so cheap) and it shows. Furniture in the lobby is really worn and overall the property is showing it's age. But I think it is still worth the spend.
The 3 night package was less than the cost alone for the ferry for those 3 days so it was an excellent deal. But you are somewhat trapped when it comes to meals. You either eat meals at their high priced restaurants which have a mandatory 30% added (20% tip + 10% VAT) or you pay for a golf cart ($80 - $120 per day) to drive to Bailey Town or Alice Town for meals from the locals.
The ferry is a 2 hour ride and leaves from Port Everglades in Ft. Lauderdale. It (Balearia) does offer food, drinks, and a paid wifi.
One thing not included in the price is the resort fees of $45 per day. But this is well worth the price as the beach is spectacular and the pools (3) are very nice. Two of the pools are on property but the third pool and beach are 1/2 mile down the road. They do offer trolleys between the beach, hotel, Fishermans Village, and pier.
You normally arrive at the resort around noon and check-in, according to the website, at 4:00. The day we arrived there was a huge crowd leaving and they gave us a 5:00 check-in. We never did receive our room keys until 6:30 so they gave us an additional $100 credit for food at the resort which we felt that was acceptable.
We discovered Fishermans Village (shops and a few places to eat/drink) is all owned by the resort and only open when one of the crusie ships is in port. It really is just an extension of the resort and does not offer much more than what you you can find on property.
The rooms were new, modern, and decorated very nice. But we didn't feel they were the cleanest. They were not dirty, but we felt they were probably given a quick clean sweep that just didn't clean to the normal level of a resort property. Part of it though is you do drag in a lot of sand after visiting the beach no matter how much you shower. There was no carpeting in our room so it was noticeable on the wood flooring.
Our room did have a mini-fridge, safe, balcony, desk, closet, and plenty of storage space for luggage. Charging ports around the nightstands are lacking and we had to unplug the room phone to charge our phones.
We visited the casino one night and while it is small they do have live table games, slots, and automated electronic games.
Overall we had a great time and would do it again but the next time, with a better understanding of the food costs...
Read moreDirty towels at check in. We ask for new ones twice and it took a long time to have new ones. Nobody really cares that the towels were dirty. They took the one we pointed out, folded it and left the rest before we told thwm to change them all and that they shouldn't fold the diety on to get them confused with clean ones.
Slow service
Water in the room and in the fountains tatste like chlorine (pool water). We couldn't give it to the babies and the bottle of water at there grocery store we sold out. Same for the shower water.
Refusal of giving us pitchers of water (because the pitchers in the restaurants taste fine).
Someone in the restaurant told us the water was fine to drink everywhere but upon checking out the front desk attendant told us they never recommend their guests to drink the tap water... No one ever told us butthat doesn't explain the drinking fountain's water tasting just like the tap water.
Hint of stale or sewage water smell in the restroom of our room.
Groundfloor pool closed for maintenance.
Rooftop pool available only to adults. (We're here with 2 kids under 3)
Resort fees were not mentioned untill after we paid the package.
They told us that the resort fees are to pay for the cleaning of the room, swimming pools, shuttle etc .... The room was not clean, neither the pools so we should not be paying for the resort fees.
Upon checking out they charged us extra restaurant items that we never had.
The check out bill is itemized in a very confusing way and very different from the restaurant bill. Makes it difficult for you to spot mistakes.
The kids we're charged 59$ each for the ferry when they had no seats. They were both on our laps.
You are automatically charged an 18% gratuity (tip) on all your restaurant purchases no matter the service and even when at the breakfast buffet where there "is no table service".
If they would have given us this package for free we still would've refused had we known hownit was going to be. Complete waste of our time and money near the end of our vacation.
If I eat at a restaurant and find the food disgusting, I ate some, won't eat the rest but will pay for none of it. I am sold a package at a hotel and it is not satisfactory, I stayed for a night (two because we were given the run around at the hotel and put on hold on the phone for a very long time) but will cut the trip short, and should be refunded everything because it was a waste of our time and money in our vacation.
We heard quite a few people complaining about the hotel as well.
WRB offers to refund peanuts on what we paid saying "you used the room and ferry"...
It's infuriating. Avoid at all costs, it's a...
Read moreI’m writing this from my hotel room at Resorts World Bimini, and to say I’m disappointed is a massive understatement. This has been the most disorganized, unprofessional, and frustrating travel experience I’ve ever had — and it’s only our first day.
Let’s start with the ferry. Despite paying for a full weekend stay, we were treated like second-class passengers. They prioritize the one-day guests first, and we were screamed at for lining up — even though we were following directions. We had to wait over an hour and a half for every single one-day person to get off the ferry before we could even get off. Then, we waited through customs, then another 30 minutes for a tram to finally get to the resort.
When we arrived, there was no texting service to notify us when our room was ready. Instead, the front desk just told us to “keep checking back.” Not exactly the welcome you expect after spending money to stay at what’s advertised as a luxury resort.
When we finally got our room? A mess. • The safe didn’t work. • The toilet wouldn’t flush. • The water pressure was so low it might as well not exist. We had to call the front desk twice before someone came to fix the safe and check the room. We left to go to the beach, hoping the worst was over.
Nope.
When we got back to shower, there was basically no water pressure at all in the shower — literally dripping. Then came the final straw: we pulled back the covers on one of the beds and there were bugs in it. Absolutely disgusting.
We called the front desk and the woman was rude, saying she’d “send housekeeping.” 20 minutes go by — nothing. We call again, and now she claims nobody was ever contacted. She sends security — not housekeeping — to handle our issue, and tells us we’ll have to switch rooms and file a report. We didn’t want a whole production. We just wanted clean bedding.
Eventually, someone shows up with pillows but refuses to make the bed, just hands them to us and leaves. I’ve never felt so disrespected at a hotel in my life.
This place is all looks, no service. Don’t be fooled by the pictures. You will spend your money to be treated poorly, ignored, and left to fix your own problems. This resort clearly doesn’t care about the guests who are actually staying here. Save yourself the stress — go anywhere else.
At this point, I absolutely feel we deserve some form of compensation or management to reach out for the time lost, the stress caused, and the overall...
