The Tides — Restaurant in Bimini

Save your time and money and go to a local restaurant. Staff was nice but awful when it comes to service. At this price point it was extremely disappointing the service we received. At the host stand we told the staff member there were 3 of us, without speaking any words, she just started walking away and we were unsure if we were supposed to follow her. She almost seemed annoyed at having to seat us. With only 3 other tables in the restaurant it took almost 15 minutes for us to be greeted. Zero sense of urgency from any staff. Asked for water and would wait 10+ minutes to receive. No check back to see if we were enjoying our food, 30+ minutes in between seeing our server, just a really bad experience. Food was barely subpar, the price could have easily been cut by half to meet the quality. We had additional tequilas on our check because the server ‘thought we wanted two different types of tequila in 1 drink’. All while 2 managers sat at the front talking and having zero involvement in the workings of the restaurant or staff or asking tables about their experience. I guess with an automatic 18% gratuity no one cares since they will get paid regardless. Beyond disappointing for a Hilton property. Again, save your time, money and patience and go to a local restaurant or eat at the bar...

Ok, so I will just my story! My family and I sat down waited for 45 minutes no waiter or waitress finally waitress showed up. We were in the middle of ordering literally and she turned around and walked away. Don’t understand why but we got up and left 15 minutes later. We thought maybe something that happened to her but we kept seeing her wait on all the tables and trust me. We were not rude or mad. i’m a world traveler and this is literally the worst service I have ever had and I’m 60+ years old. and have been traveling for more than 40 years and have never experienced. Somebody literally walk away in the middle of my own sentence. I recognized that she was busy, so I mentioned to her that I would give her the whole entire order very quickly so she could move on. Breakfast was the highlight at this restaurant. $35 is not a lot of money for a breakfast buffet, especially considering the price of everything else they charge at this restaurant during lunch and dinner. The desserts they offered on the menu do not match what comes out. The caramelized banana cake… it was a piece of banana bread with some bananas and caramel on top 🤦🏻 coffee cheesecake was a half-defrosted frozen piece of plane cheesecake with some kind of indiscernible white liquid on top. The tuna tartare tasted good, but the tuna was grey instead of nice and red. Shishito peppers didn’t have any salt or lemon on them. Calamari was stringy.
