Do not, I repeat, do not book this hotel. Run, run as fast as you can and go with a different chain. First off, they have 2 Park Inns, very close to one another. This one did come up on navigation system, not even just by street address. It does however come up on google maps, luckily my phone was active so I could finally find it. Secondly, on google maps it claims this hotel has free parking, but the desk clerk said it 15 Euros a day, the actual Radisson Park Inn website doesn’t say anything one way or the other. I call bait and switch. The desk clerk suggested I could always park my rental on the street for free a couple of blocks away. Sure, that always works out well for rental cars.
Thirdly, the bar and grill (RBG) service is atrocious. Took forever to get any acknowledgment, much less seated, with only 3-4 tables occupied with 2-3 people at each and no one at the bar and 2 servers. Then it took so long after being seated that I placed my meal and drink order at the same time (penne salmon and large Stella beer 50cl). She finally brought my beer but it was the small 33cl and even well below the fill line. About the time I was supposed to get my meal, she comes back to me and asks what I ordered. Well I made sure she knew what size beer I asked for this time and it was still well below the 50cl fill line, as was the last one when I was finally able to order it and get my bill. Never once did either staff come around to ask anything. She was usually on her phone and he was usually hanging out in the kitchen.
Last, I almost forgot to mention this, was the cost of 5 nights here. The desk clerk was trying to make it sound like the total was going to be almost twice as much because of taxes and such. When I questioned her and showed her the total that Radisson’s website quoted me, which showed taxes included, then she tried to change her story. It will be interesting at the end of this what my bill will actually be, especially seeing as how I won’t charge...
Read moreI recently stayed at the Radisson Hotel in Antwerpen Berchem, and while the experience had its ups and downs, it ended on a much more positive note than it began.
Upon arrival, the first impression wasn't ideal, but the night receptionist really turned things around. He was extremely friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to make our stay more comfortable. Despite the bar being closed, he was able to organize a bottle of red wine for us, which was a thoughtful touch that helped alleviate some initial concerns.
One major issue, however, was finding the hotel's parking facilities. The signage leading to the car park is poorly marked, and it was quite a challenge to find the entrance – even though I’m quite familiar with the Antwerpen Berchem area, having lived nearby for years. A tip for future guests: follow the police cars, as the hotel is located next to one of the main police stations, which can be useful in finding your way.
It’s worth noting that rebranding a "Park Inn by Radisson" into a "Radisson Hotel" doesn’t work just by changing the name. There are certain standards expected of a Radisson, and while the hotel does meet most, it doesn’t quite live up to the full Radisson experience I've had at other properties. For instance, the rooms seemed slightly smaller, though still comfortable and of good quality. The bed was cozy and the room was well-maintained.
Breakfast was another high point of the stay, offering a good variety of choices and a fresh, tasty selection. The breakfast staff were also helpful and attentive, which made for a pleasant dining experience.
In summary, while there are some areas that need improvement, particularly the parking situation and the overall ambiance compared to a typical Radisson, the friendly and accommodating staff, comfortable rooms, and a good breakfast made the stay...
Read moreI stayed here for 3 nights on a Parrys coach holiday. The train and bus stations are directly opposite the hotel, as is an electric bike hire park. There is a Lidl to the left, just down the road from the hotel and you'll easily find the police station if you go right.||The hotel is modern with large windows that let in plenty of natural light. My standard room was spotlessly clean and spacious. I especially liked the window seat, the fridge containing complimentary water and the spare soft pillow in the top of the wardrobe. The king-size bed was very comfortable and I had a perfect sleep on all 3 nights. The hotel is close to a busy dual carriageway and the train station, but you couldn't hear any noise at all.||Breakfast is served in the restaurant at 6:30 am to 10:00 am on a weekday and 7:00 to 11:30 on a weekend. Lunch is served from midday to 2:00 pm on a weekday and dinner from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. There is no dinner service on a Sunday, but our coach party had an exception. The food was delicious and served in a buffet style. They had symbols for common allergens on the signs next to each dish and a completely separate section at breakfast for gluten free foods. They had a number of milk alternatives available.||The staff were very friendly and helpful. |I really enjoyed my stay and I highly...
