Epoque — Restaurant in Antwerp

This is a nice cozy corner only a few minutes walk from Park Inn where we were based.

We wanted to avoid the crowd at Antwerpen Central and decided to look for nicely rated restaurants nearby.

What I've realized is that in Belgium if you see a bar, there is a big chance they don't only serve drinks and fries! They might have really a good menu list as well! This is the case with Bar Epoq.

We had Spicy Ginger and Lime Basil for our drinks, Gambas for starters, Bouillabaisse and Thai Beef Salad for our mains. I ended it with a fruity beer.The meal was sumptuous and the portions were ample!

The cherry on top and I consider it my dessert was the stroll around its neighbourhood " The Golden Triangle."

Jugend/Art Nouveau houses that are a feast to anyone's eye. Minus the hustle and bustle of a huge crowd.

Lovely food, lovely drinks (I loved the lime &basil! A nice surprise), friendly and knowledgeable staff. They have reserved us the cosiest corner with a view of the houses.

I do recommend this to anyone who ends up in Berchem. Price is comparatively low for the amount of food and drinks we've ordered. Definitely cheaper than our country of residence...

Onze kennismaking met deze eet-bar beviel ons ten zeerste. De ligging is top op de hoek van de mooiste art-deco straat van de stad en vlak naast het station van Berchem. De ligging is ideaal voor reizigers die even privé wat willen verpozen , rusten of werken alvorens ze hun treinreis ondernemen. Onze koffie was lekker en op een groot bord tegen de muur konden we aflezen dat hier pasta , broodjes, vis- en vleesgerechten geserveerd worden. Bij ons volgend bezoek zullen we zeker wat uitproberen want wij keren...
