I attended this hotel on the basis of a business meeting so it has to be read with that in mind. The hotel itself is a combination of some old but mainly new construction, with the old being the basis for the main reception area and some of the restaurant/meeting rooms that are focussed in this area.||I( had a twin bedded room which, for one, was perfectly adequate. Tastefully furnished (hard these days not to be?) and appointed with a reasonable temperature control - I'm not sure if it would have coped with higher summer temperatures and opening the window on a ground floor room was an option but could have been easily accessible from the outside - perhaps a rethink needed on room security and window restrictions? A generous bathroom and ample sitting/work area in the room meant that the room was perfect for working in as well.||Breakfast is the, by now, typical fare of a buffet with plenty of hot and cold dishes available as well as the selection of breads and pastries (not good for staying awake in a meeting..).||The food provided was superb. For a business meeting we had both lunches and evening dinners provided and these proved to be of a very high quality; fresh produce and some imaginative combinations as well just to keep people's interest up. Service was also very good - unobtrusive but always available and nothing seemed to be too much trouble (we had some members of the group request last minute alterations to the selected dishes and these were dealt with without any fuss or bother).||The location is perfect for a simple, quiet get away being close to a small lake - this can be walked around in about 30 - 40 minutes but does allow one to have a stretch of the legs after a long day and it presents an opportunity for a few minutes peace and quiet. The view back across the lake to the hotel is quite impressive as well.||Location wise it's quite good for the railway for links into Brussels but road access is helped if you have a sat-nav; mine found it first time but it is tucked away off the main roads behind some residential areas so make sure you have a good reference point from a map etc. before you go! For local attractions the obvious one is for the Waterloo battlefield which is barely 10Km away.||Overall, I would be happy to go back there again, either business or pleasure, and make moer of the opportunities to go and see some of the plentiful local history the region...
Read moreThis is a side house from the main hotel Chateaux du Lac and not in a easily reach on a walking distance as its uphill and a bit hidden away )5-10min walking) which is not convenient when the weather is. It nice since breakfast/restaurant/spa and other amenities are on the main building. However the location is nice around the lake and it does feature a small table with some Yogurts, fruit and drinks which is really great especially if you have a late arrival! Unfortunately rooms are really old style and not renovated in probably 30+ years and the bathroom is one of the smallest I've seen. They have A/C and the rooms are really quiet due to the location. Overall pricing is quite high for what is offered. For an even cheaper price you can get a Hilton or Sheraton in...
Read moreSeparate from the main hotel but just a few minutes walk away in a quiet grand old house and perfect for overnight stay after a wedding @ the Chateau du lac. Very reasonably priced and included lovely breakfast @ the Chateau hotel. Coffee, water, juices, fruit & cereal bars available all day in the foyer. ||||You do need to check in at the main hotel to get access card to stay there (as there are no staff @ the Manoir) but this wasn’t a problem for us as we spent all day @ the main hotel anyway. Probably not somewhere i’d stay unless attending an event @ the main hotel but as I mentioned above it was perfect for our stay. Staff in the Chateau du lac hotel were friendly and attentive and the food there for the wedding...
