On the good side the rooms are very nice and obviously new or newly renovated. Nothing against the other comments which rated high in the reviews. However, from what I have seen in Brazil (and there are many places) the place is overpriced. We paid BRL 500/night. For a superior room out of high season and with a negotiated disccount of 30BRL/night as we walked in. We would have expected a service at that level. Unfortunately, like many things in Brazil cost/benefit was not given. ||Main issue was that the shower took 20-30 min to get hot at a very low water pressure, hence we could also not use the bathtub (which comes with a higher price) properly; the television had no digital signal and the breakfast was as good as any other Pousada in Brazil, where I'd pay half of the room prize.||The worse however, was the owner's reaction to our complaints. Funny enough is to read another comment here (rated terrible) with the same problem where the guest was sworn at after he complaint about the water. We had a similar experience and to be honest, it felt very unpleasant and shocking to experience how the owner reacted on critics and the attitude he demonstrated - in the sense of 'I'm the king of this castle and it is perfect here - so f/o with your complaint'. So, despite the nice rooms, the charme of this Pousada was blown away by the non existent service/customer orientation of the owner. Overall, due to this we can only give a...
Read moreI booked a superior room ( last room left) by my windsurf agent (vela) and was very satisfied.||I arrived at 4 am to this pousada and within 3 minutes was already at my room. Rooms are new, modernly decorated. Lots of storage place, balcony with chairs and hammock overlooking the pool area.||||Service was very good, helping with every question and request. Not all the stuff speaks english but they do there best to communicate. They let me have a late check out at four pm when my transfer arrived. They also helped me with return transfer. ||||Pool area looks welcoming. I didn't use it but many young groups and couples were enjoying it. The pool closes at night so there is no noise problem, but if you want your privacy book a room on the second floor or not facing the pool.||Breakfast was simple and tasty. Fresh fruits, pastries, breads and juices.||Location is a plus in my opinion, just off the north main street, 7 minutes walk to the beach or town square, but without all the noise. Lots of restaurants and shops on the way.||||This is not a spa hotel or on the beach front if you are looking for that. ||||I highly recommend this pousada for...
Read moreMy fiancé and I stayed in Jeri for 7 nights in 4 different pousada's. This gave us some perspective and a point of comparison. We unfortunately had an ant crisis with ANOTHER pousada and came to Kanaloa out of desperation for somewhere nearby that was nice. ||||The owner, Nancy was very friendly, understanding, and sympathetic to our situation and gave us a discount. The room itself was beautiful, spacious and clean. We had a nice balcony with a view and a hammock. The shower was good and we did not experience any issues with water temperature or pressure. The breakfast was simple like all of the pousada's we went to (baked goods, fresh fruit, and option to have tapioca or eggs with coffee and fresh juice). The location is a bit further away from the main action (Rua Principal) but we appreciated the 5 minute walk to get to see a bit more of Jeri. ||||We left this pousada with a great impression and would definitely go back. Nancy took the time to get to know us and gave us outstanding customer service....
