Pousada Por do Sol — Hotel in Região Geográfica Imediata de Angra dos Reis

After spending some time chasing down an address that didn't exist for a booking we made for a different property, we gave up and settled on this place. Zero English. But, the staff are friendly and very patient. We forgot to ask about breakfast times and arrived an hour after it had finished. The table was in the process of being cleaned up. We didn't mind (after all, it was 11 am). But the table was kindly re-set for us. The rooms were clean, the shower hot and had a safe, tv, fridge and ac (for $20R extra per night). We found the fan was actually cool enough. WiFi worked well some of the time and the pool, a welcome relief from the humidity (when it wasn't raining). We arrived in Paraty and could not reach our actually booked accommodation because of the storms and rains. So we stood there in the evening without a roof over our heads and didn't know what to do. We then arrived after some searching in this hotel and Vera immediately gave us a room. We did not get further to Rio and were allowed to stay as long as we wanted. It was completely natural! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very basic. There was only one electric outlet in the room and the refrigerator was using that plug. There was no electric outlet in the bathroom. Soap is provided. No shampoo. A hair dryer was provided.There was a nice overhead fan but no AC in the room we were in.
