Istanbul Paraty is an absolute gem tucked away in the heart of Paraty! Having been in business for 13 years, this restaurant continues to stand out with its incredible quality and authenticity. As a town with a thriving food scene, it’s rare to find a spot that truly shines, but this Turkish restaurant does just that.
Unlike the typically more touristy restaurants in the historic center, Istanbul Paraty is super affordable and popular with locals, which says a lot about its consistent quality. The warm, inviting atmosphere, along with the friendly staff, makes you feel right at home. The open kitchen is a real treat – you can watch as they prepare your meal right in front of you, with ingredients that are always fresh.
The food is simply outstanding. From the kebabs to the pide and the baklava, every dish is full of authentic Turkish flavor. It’s also worth noting that they offer tons of amazing vegetarian options, ensuring there’s something for everyone. For an unforgettable experience, try the Tapete Voador (Flying Carpet), which has a bit of everything – a perfect way to taste a variety of their offerings.
With all this, Istanbul Paraty truly offers the best value for money in Paraty. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, this place is a must-try. We can’t...
Read moreMy friend and I have been traveling through Brazil, and on a particularly rainy day when spirits were a bit low, we decided to try this restaurant—and we’re so glad we did. It turned out to be the best meal we've had by far on our trip.

As someone who is half Turkish, it felt like a little piece of home to speak with the lovely owner. He was incredibly warm and welcoming, which made the experience even more special. My friend, who isn’t Turkish, was equally touched by the hospitality—it’s a true testament to the kindness and generosity of Turkish culture, right here in a small corner of Brazil.
Highly recommend to anyone looking for a soulful, satisfying meal and a genuinely...

During this time, we noticed other tables that arrived after us were able to place their orders, while we were not approached even for drinks.
Eventually, we decided to leave, and just as we were leaving, a server came over to collect our menus. I did explain the situation to her on the way out, and while she apologized and mentioned that the restaurant was busy, the experience still left us feeling overlooked.
While I understand that restaurants can be busy, the lack of acknowledgment or basic service during our visit was...
