Pousada Konquista — Hotel in Região Geográfica Imediata de Angra dos Reis

Positives - Not far from bus station and old town. Paraty is probably worth seeing/experiencing (just stay somewhere else).||||Negatives 1) Cold welcome (and no English spoken, but that was not the problem). 2) Massive hole in roof of corridor outside room. 3) Bathroom not clean. 4) Room full of mosquitos - a killing spree yielded ok results (perhaps 20?) but they seemed to breed in the room with tens more appearing every few hours. 5) Terrible internet. 6) Poor breakfast. 7) Insanely bad value for money (76 Euro per night). ||All of this awaits you if you decide to stay at Pousada Konquista. ||We also had the added treat of staying on the same two nights as about 20 unsupervised teenagers who turned the pousada into a school camp with screaming, yelling, running and banging from mid-afternoon...

Stayed just one night - this hotel has sweet look and layout. 5-10 minute walk into the historic, pretty part of the town with a supermarket 5 mins in the opposite direction. We stayed in a double room upstairs which was a fair size and had a cute balcony. The room and bathroom were clean but when we arrived they were both full of mosquitos - not just a handful but heaps! Set off a couple of coils which solved the problem but not ideal when you daren't go in for fear of getting bitten! The rooms are ok. ||The sole problem is that they try to rip you off while checking in. Wanted to have R$150 for a night (double room without aircon) even though a double bedroom with aircon was bookable for R$90 on booking.com.||When we told them that we could now book online via booking.com they told us that this offer is not available any longer !?
