Pousada Solar do Algarve — Hotel in Região Geográfica Imediata de Angra dos Reis

Cute rustic hostel very much in a tropical style. Don’t expect hiltons and Marriott’s in Paratay as all hotels are like this here. ||Pros - loved the gorgeous gardens and beautiful building, breakfast was 10/10 with fresh fruit, pastries, cheese, ham, scrambled eggs made to order, cereal, freshly squeezed juices, Yogurts and more. Amazing location as it’s super close to the historical center (2 min short walk), 1 min from a grocery store and beach Pria de Pontal (7 min walk). Lots of food options around which is great for when in rains which given it is a tropical environment happens often. (You are by a rainforest afterall). Rooms are clean and beds are great. Got great sleep here and it’s super quiet at night despite the windows being shutter windows and more prone to noise from outside. Did appreciate the shampoo and little soaps. Works well. Staff very kind and welcoming and know basic English phrases. Room has fridge, tv and AC, as well as extra blankets for those who get cold. WiFi here is amazing! Code is in the lobby. Really cute gardens and lobby with lots of flowers and occasional tropical birds and butterflies!||Cons - insects, while there’s much less than we’d expect given the windows are shutters, there’s still tiny tropical guests that do get in. This isn’t unique to this hotel but tropical regions in general so something to expect. We brought bug spray though thankfully didn’t have any mosquitos inside. Do use bug spray when walking around town cause they are definitely here. Also we mostly had hot water and not much cold. Couldn’t complain as I like hot showers but FYI. ||Tips - during rain season expect it to rain every evening. Usually anywhere from 2-6pm. Tropical rains don’t last long (30 min max) so plan to stay in during that time. While during the downpour the city roads flood, their drainage system works super quick and it’s all clear soon after. Also recommend wearing flip flops or sandals here in case you do end up in the rain as they dry faster. Lots of yum restaurants so do your research ahead of time! Definitely see the historic center, beach and book a tour (we did keep waterfall keep tour which was 10/10). ||Overall Paraty stole my heart and this hotel was the perfect getaway here. Which I guess is due to the age of the town, but neighbour left with a blocked toilet for entirety of their stay. Wasnt fixed even after numerous requests. Very unhygenic.|Terrible electrics. Me sinto na obrigação de relatar uma situação muito constrangedora que presenciei. Na semana passada, estive em Paraty/RJ com duas amigas, e nos hospedamos na Pousada Solar do Algarve, através da agência de turismo contratada para a viagem. Portanto, mesmo não tendo contratado diretamente o serviço de hospedagem, fomos os beneficiários. Minha amiga fez um comentário, nesse canal, relatando a insatisfação com o serviço. Porém, no momento do check-out, foi abordada pela proprietária da pousada, que fez insultos, em tom grosseiro, e disse que ela não tinha o direito de fazer o comentário negativo porque não contratou o serviço (?, independentemente disso, ela foi a usuária). Além da abordagem grosseira e em público, foi ameaçada de responder a um processo judicial por ter feito o comentário. Concordo que qualquer insatisfação com o serviço pode ser resolvida diretamente na pousada, porém, nenhuma alegação feita pela proprietária justifica o não direito de comentar sua opinião num canal público, como o Google. Fica a dica para todos e espero que ninguém tenha que passar por situação tão constrangedora.

Concordo contigo. Não perca seu precioso tempo em responder-nos porque nada que disser mudará a péssima experiência que tivemos na Pousada Solar do Algarve. Gaste-o em melhorar o serviço da sua pousada, em aprender a ser mais educada com seus hóspedes e em conhecer minimamente sobre o quê diz. Recomendo que aprenda o básico sobre direito do consumidor antes de dizer as barbaridades que nos disse sem nenhuma base jurídica. E ainda aconselho a aprender um pouco sobre língua portuguesa, pois o uso das reticências no seu comentário...
