We booked last minute for our hotel in Ilha Grande. It was a splurge, over our budget, but when you book late in the already bustling holiday season, we can't complain. The location of this hotel is great! Right on the main street facing the beach. Upon arrival we met Eric at the reception desk, who was super friendly and frankly straight up honest! What a breath of fresh air. He told us what to expect on the island, where to eat, what to avoid.
The hotel itself is nice! Has a pool, sauna and games area. Computers with relatively faster internet then the wifi they provide. Breakfast was great how ever it was the same thing every morning! The rooms are modest but clean! Everything you need: wifi, ac, hot water, towels and a mini fridge. How ever one morning, I was woken up with this terrible screeching noise from the room upstairs that lasted almost 2 hours (people packing and leaving, followed by cleaning ladies). As I was sick, I really needed my sleep! The manager offered her sincere apologies and told me to contact her directly if it happened the next morning. My advice: take a room on the top floor!
I strongly recommend...
Read moreWe (family of 4 adults) stayed here 6 nights June 10th through 16th. |There was nothing to complain about. Staff was very, very friendly, smiling and extremely helpful. I needed medical attention (blood pressure suddenly falling low) and everyone was so nice, effective and helpful!!! Thank you / muito obrigado !||The breakfast was fantastic, especially the fruit - we loved it (I believe they realised because we took to it)|The rooms were clean!|And the position of the Pousada could not be better: central, where the genuine vibes were getting you and next to all the boats. ||We would lave to go there again and stay somewhat longer. We felt so well. |Tanks again - muito obrigado....
Read moreVery basic accommodation. The walls of the rooms are paper thin and you can hear the next door TV as if it’s in your room. The location is very good. When we were there they were doing maintenance work on the adjoining block and there was rubble everywhere. The Manageress was totally unsympathetic to our situation. The support staff were much more polite and helpful. You can take coffee and tea from the reception to your room but you have flimsy plastic cups that you have to triple up. It would be so simple to leave some cups or mugs. Breakfast was ok. One day I asked for a fried egg and got a fried scrambled egg. |Just generally disappointed with their whole approach...
