As you arrive you will know you made the right choice when you’ll be blown away by the sheer beauty of the place and its seclusion from the rest of the lodging in the area. We were greeted by Marcus, the owner. He was welcoming, kind and courteous. He didn’t waste any time to start offering us options of places to visit and things to do. All his recommendations were well worth it. As we checked in to our room we found ourselves surrounded by superb art and colors which complimented the artisanal design of the entire Pousada. Lots of modern touch in our room and yet everything seems to blend in well with the lush vegetation around us. The garden is a space of peace and tranquillity like no other. We had 5 very quiet and deep night sleep, thanks to the comfortable bed and the excellent location. Although slightly off the beating track, Villa Canaa is a short drive or 15-20 mins walk to the busy coastline streets of Buzios. Every morning we were greeted with smiles and invited into a beautifully designed breakfast room to savor morning dishes like no other. Marcus and his wife Simone would surprise us with various different treats each day-they have many skills and one of them is cooking delicious dishes. So, come hungry, there’s plenty to go try. Each end of our day, as we return to the Pousada, Marcus or Simone would meet us to have a quick chat about our day. It almost seems that they have the entire weight of Buzios tourism charm on their shoulders as they endeavor to ensure we had the best time ever. Even on the day when the weather wasn’t at its best, they’d still find something to recommend. There’s is a sense of pride in the management team of Pousada Villa Canaa that translates right through to all the staff working there. We stayed at Pusada Villa Canaā for 4 nights and it was the best decision we could have made. The hotel is a hidden gem in Búzios. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with all the amenities you need including a huge jacuzzi, shower and private balcony. The hotel also has a lovely infinity pool where you can relax and enjoy the sun and order drinks and food.

But what really makes this hotel special is the hospitality and service of the owners and hosts, Marcus and Simone. They went above and beyond at every opportunity, making us feel like family. They gave us great tips on what to do and where to eat in Búzios so we were able to make the most of our precious time there. They are the most friendly and helpful people you will ever meet and their choice to only have 7 rooms at the hotel makes everything feel unique and private compared to the much larger hotels.

The breakfast every morning was delicious and unique, with a variety of fresh fruits, juices, breads, cheeses, and cakes which changed daily. On our last day, we had to take an early bus, so Marcus and Simone woke up early to make us a take-away breakfast. It was such a thoughtful gesture that we really appreciated.
