A marvelous experience for me personally. The rooms are very nice, the staff is absolutely unbelievable, the air conditioning a excellent comfort. I will say that this stay, and the overall stay in FdN, is one of experience. if you are some entitled folk that are looking for a resort to meet all of your personal needs and comforts, perhaps you need understand a bit more about life on Fernando de Noronha. For me, this was an surreal experience throughout. The hotel gives you a wonderful location and a nice cozy spot to return to at days end. Most hotels on FdN are going to come with an increased price relative to mainland locations and that is something you must find comfort in before even arriving. I couldn't be more happy about what I saw and what I learned. Natural variety in a small area and a people that live a very different life than most. Fascinating to no end as far as it concerned me. ||||I tend to find the critical comments I read of the pousada a bit silly. Most of us weren't born yesterday...it isn't hard to pick out reviews from folks that get their vacations out of a "can" or those that go on vacation seemingly wanting disappointment. It is like a bunch of folks only found out about the place when they were in Brazil for the World Cup. The showers are luke-warm, but that is life on FdN. It is a hot/humid place. The people live an existence very different from most. Cherish that experience rather than burdening nice folks with your attitude whilst giving them good reason to stereotype you (and your culture) like any other greedy tourist. ||||Pousada Lenda das Aguas gave me the opportunity to experience places and people I really never knew could exist. Everything is 4-5 times as expensive on the island and I am still left to wonder where the poor folks (I have to believe most are near or below poverty) get their stuff. The market nearby appeared to have local patrons as well as tourists. I found a greater variation in pricing at restaurants than at the store. I showed up and my atm card didn't work, that was scary. I have a Chase ATM card and the machines wouldn't read it, although the machine said PLUS and VISA. I had USD luckily and when to a place "Atlantis" to exchange. ||||The lady at the front desk is beautiful, intelligent, and...
Read moreThis is a rather simple but very comfortable property. Prices (for everything) on the island are high and if you come to Noronha with luxury in mind the cost of your stay will be astronomical.||||This pousada, for 4 nights, was perfect for us. The greeting was great. The room was in a quiet location. Wifi is aweful (which is a normality on the island) and slowish 4G was used to complement. The bed was king-size and very comfortable. Television was not used at all. A/C was used nonstop. The refrigerator was used to always have cold drinks. Breakfast was cooked to order (at an agreed time) with many different choices/items and it was very delicious. The staff are VERY nice and accommodating and we could not thank them enough. ||||Location is fine.....a 5-minute downhill walk to the main touristic area......and a 2-minute walk to the bus stop (it is a free service that covers the island every 30 minutes). A taxi to return to the airport cost us R$30....and taxis are plentiful on the island.||||The front desk can recommend excursions and when we just could not find a dune buggy rental on our own, we asked and within 10 minutes a buggy appeared at the front...
Read moreThe average pousada (hotel) in Noronha is very simple, despite the high prices. This pousada is no different, so that's why I'm considering it average. If you want a better place, you'll need to pay double or triple the price.||||The best thing about the pousada is the service. The ladies at reception always tried to be helpful and gave us some good tips. The worst thing is that the walls between bedrooms are paper thin, so you'll hear absolutely everything that goes on around you. But hopefully you're lucky and don't get any crying babies or partying teenagers.||||The rooms are small but functional, with air conditioning, minibar, and a private bathroom with hot shower. There is a TV with no reception, and the wi-fi is non-existent (not even to check e-mails). Also, the cleanliness was definitely not a highlight...||||The location is good, being quite central, the breakfast is all right, and they do offer an afternoon tea. There is a decent hammock in front of each room.||||Would I go back? Probably not, but then again I'm not at all certain that I would find a...
