DPNY Beach Hotel & SPA Ilhabela — Hotel in Região Imediata de Caraguatatuba-Ubatuba-São Sebastião

Experience with very mixed feelings:

The upside: Very nice location, directly at Corrall Beach on Ilhabela. Very idyllic. Nice beach with clean waters. We enjoyed a lot. The main hotel facilities are outstanding Fantastic service staff at the poolside, restaurants and car parking, very attendive and friendly Good and tasty food, matching the expextation of a luxury hotel

The downside: We were hosted in the adjacent building that is accross the main street. My mistake during the booking, I did not pay too much attention to this detail. The rooms were Ok and meeting the expectations that you can have for such a price in luxury hotel. However, there was constant bad smell of sewedge water around that building (during all our 4 days of stay). There was painful whistling sound all day long, coming probably from a pipe for airconditioning or ventilation. It feels like you have a Tinitus in your ear. Terrible. We coud only sleep with ear plugs. Despite of asking to solve the problem during our first night, the hotel was unable to do it. Proabbly a design mistake in the pipe system that will remain unless the piping is changed. Another bad factor is the main road in front of this side building. It was an additional noise contributor to the pipeline wistling sound as described above. So better, either you like late sleeping and early awaking when staying in this building, or avoid to stay there. The hotel refused that we can take our own water into the hotel room. I have never experineced that in such kind of a hotel elsewhere in the world. There are few options I can accept: the tap water is drinkable, the hotel offers water complimentary, or one can bring his own water (which should not be the case in a luxury hotel!). So it was just an unfriendly way to rip off money from the guests. Sorry, a no go in a hotel where we consume a lot and pay 30-40% more than outside, water needs to be for free on in the room.

Summarizing: we can recommend to stay in this hotel, however NOT AT ALL in the side building. Avoid it when booking there! Whether we would go there again? Maybe, if the issues above are clearly solved.

To the hotel management that wants to comment my comment: I offered to your reception staff to give you directly my feedback. Unfortunately, nobody showed up or...

We recently stayed at the hotel for a NYE celebration for four nights. While the hotel's amenities and food were acceptable, we found that the price we paid was not commensurate with the quality of the services provided.

The hotel staff were friendly, but unfortunately the service was extremely slow. We were also disappointed that the management team did not offer any courtesies when we requested an early check-out.

The Wi-Fi was terrible, and we had to deal with repeated interruptions while trying to use it. On one occasion, we were charged twice for an item we ordered at the pool area due to the poor connection.

The amenities provided were satisfactory, but compared to other all-inclusive resorts in Brazil, they were not outstanding. It would have been nice to have access to complimentary stand up paddling and kayaking, and a gym or partnership with a nearby gym would have been appreciated.

The food was average, and we would suggest avoiding the sushi. The hotel charges extra for some items, which is disappointing. Cocktails and breakfast, however, were enjoyable. It's worth noting that guests will need to order a cheese and fruit platter as these are not available on the buffet.

Regarding the rooms, the decor was pleasing, but we were disappointed that there were no windows in the main room, only in the bathroom.

Overall, while we found some aspects of our stay at the hotel acceptable, we would not recommend it to others, nor would we choose to stay...

Pesadelo de viagem do inicio ao fim!

A historia é muito longa, mas vou tentar encurtar.

Central de Reservas: Perdidos! Confundiram o horário checkin/checkout o que nos acarretou uma dor de cabeça de viagem tanto para ir quanto para voltar - sem balsa com hora marcada por conta da bagunça que fizeram com os horários.

O Quarto: A estrutura do quarto até é legal. A limpeza dos quartos é péssima. Para se ter ideia, um papel de bombom no chão, ficou praticamente os oito dias no mesmo lugar do quarto, a faxineira não limpa, literalmente. Além de mais de uma vez, vermos a faxineira usar a toalha de banho para limpar box e pia do banheiro! Sequer uma vassoura ou um pano você vê sendo passado no quarto. Se você chegou com areia da praia no quarto, vai ficar com ela até você ir embora.

Serviço de quarto: Praticamente inexistente. Alguns funcionários ficam putos para te levar o serviço de quarto. O café da manha é a partir das 8hrs da manha, coisa disfuncional e irreal para qualquer hotel! Todos os dias eu precisava pedir uma garrafa de café no quarto e que diga-se de passagem, vinha praticamente vazia!

Restaurante: Nós comemos praticamente no Bistrô/Terrace/Sushi bar. O sushi bar a única vez que minha esposa e filha comeu, foram parar no hospital com suspeita de intoxicação alimentar. Os pratos são enfeitados e parecem ser gostosos e diferentes, mas é só. Fazem isso somente para poder cobrar um preço caro por ele. O sabor da maioria dos pratos é o mesmo de comida industrializada. Para se ter um exemplo, o Petit Gateou parece aquelas tortas industrializadas da Mr. Bey. E que pasmem, demoram horas para preparar. Definitivamente não vá com crianças neste hotel - Não existe cardápio para crianças.

Praia/Piscina: Praticamente não existe serviço nestas duas áreas. Com exceção de um ou dois funcionários que realmente procuram trabalhar, o restante finge até que não te vê para não pegar seu pedido. Quando você dá sorte de conseguir pedir algo, é nítido que o funcionário tá de saco cheio para te atender. Fora as porções, são foras da realidade. Uma dose de whiskey que eu pedi, devia ter mais ou menos 50ML e ainda por cima, colocaram em um copo fino e alto, para parecer que era mais! Feito de proposito! Tome cuidado para utilizar a piscina interna (agua quente), pois ali você vai ver gente se acariciando e o hotel não tá nem ai para isso.

A Estrutura do hotel: O local aonde as suítes estão são legais, mas dá para perceber que o restante do hotel é desconexo. Não existe área para crianças ou entretenimento algum tanto para adultos como para crianças quando chove. Se chover, saiba que você vai ficar plantado no quarto. Exceto Setembro e Final de Fevereiro, o restante do tempo vai ser só chuva e sem nada para fazer. Se tentar sair do hotel para ir em algum lugar, vá com cuidado, pois em 7 dias eu vi praticamente 2 acidentes de carro (por causa de buracos) e falta de infraestrutura da ilha, além das enchentes, que é rotina na ilha inteira, principalmente perto do Centro.

É um hotel que se vende e cobra como 5 estrelas, mas não entrega absolutamente! Fica nítido o desespero do hotel em querer cobrar um absurdo por tudo e ao mesmo tempo, a forma como você é tratado. Foi o pior investimento que eu fiz em uma...
