A Glorified Ibis!
While this hotel is a convenient option for travelers passing through São Paulo’s Guarulhos Airport, given its proximity to the airport with free shuttle service, it falls short in several key areas. The hotel's modern exterior and spacious lobby provide a good first impression, but it doesn't take long to notice that some areas of the hotel are a bit tired. Rooms are basic, with minimal updates, and there are occasional issues with noise from the nearby highway, despite being relatively close to the airport. Overall, it’s a decent spot for a layover, but don't expect a Mercure as it feels like a Ibis budget - not even a normal Ibis!!
LOCATION:Its prime location near Guarulhos Airport is both its biggest advantage and disadvantage. If your goal is convenience, the Mercure is a winner. It’s a short drive to the airport with the added bonus of a free shuttle service, which makes it ideal for catching an early flight or for a brief stopover. However, the surrounding area isn’t much to write home about – it’s not a tourist destination, and the area lacks much in terms of dining or entertainment options.
DINE + DRINK: Didnt have a chance to try their F & B - so cannot comment.
ROOM: We stayed in Standard room , so this review is based on that; SIZE: Barely Spacious enough for 2 adults and simple baggage; VIEW: Random view of the city scape ; AIR-CON: Decent Air conditioner that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part of putting us to sleep; BATHROOM:Tiny sized bathroom with a Stand-in shower; TOILETRIES: basic quality toiletries
FACILITIES: Didnt have a chance to check out their facilities
SERVICE: Friendly staff that took care of our needs, but have a long way to go when it comes to providing warm hospitality
HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free Wi-Fi that works well all over the property, and the speed is good! Small Smart TV dishing out a wide variety of channels spanning sports, news, music, movies, and entertainment -...

Read moreThe review is based on 2 separate stays at this hotel in Feb 23 and March 23.||The positives||1. excellent room, noise free, great bed, great internet, hot shower - 10/10||Negatives.||1, when I checked in, the front desk gentleman was extremely particular about getting my extact address and zip code. He made me write it on peace of paper. But he could not read my handwriting and confirmed from me my street address around 6 times as if his life depended on it. I had not written my zip code. he said, its my legal obligation to reveal zip code to hotel - else he wont check me in. Well, I did reveal my zip code. Soon after i checked in my room, within 30 minutes -there were multiple attempts to use my credit card (same one) all over the world, the same card I had used to buy my room at this hotel. Luckily, my credit card address and where I actuallly lived were different. So despite hom making sure, he got my address, he never got my address associated with credit card ( big chuckle!!) . I won/ he ( front desk of this hotel) lost. he kept tryng to use my card for 3-4 days and finally gave up!||2. On another occasion in same hotel, I ordered room service ( food) and paid by credit card to guy bringing food to my room. ( it was 0200 am). within few hours, when I was checking out at 1000 am, the front desk almost called the police on me, insisting I had not paid for the food. Luckily, I had email confirmation from my credit card provider confirming the payment and I was able to prove them. but they tried extremely hard to make me pay second time. They had made sure I never got any receipt when I had paid at 0200, the previous night, though I asked many times.||Final Conclusion - I am NOT Brazilian. This hotel is NOT for the weak person. The rooms are GREAT but you need to be VERY STRONG mentally to deal with wicked con artists...
