Reception room was elegant, but the rooms and the tiny elevator were a shock. We stayed at building H apartment 232. The door doesn't fully open; the kitchenette has molded and broken furniture; the wind blows through the closed window; the rest of furniture is old; the bed is uncomfortable. Though I appreciate the individuality and control of temperature by having a boiler for each apartment, you can run out of warm water at the shower (if you shower 3 people one after another). You don't always get trashbags and enough towels; there are only (cold) tiles on the ground, no wooden floor/rug; not enough storage places; TV doesn't have any decent channels with weird placement in the room; very thin walls
But we had a nice view of the car, the outdoor pool, and the mountains; location is close to most of the interesting parts of Bansko.
When we went for breakfast/dinner, the options are limited. As a vegetarian I barely had options, but my non-vegetarian friends were also struggling with choosing something delicious; barely any vegan options; there are no labels with naming the food or mentioning alergens, lactose, other ingredients that you may need to know if you have a diet; the drinks are terrible (the red one is just water and the orange one is too sweet), don't try them.
The ladies in the restaurant are helpong you and smiling, very kind. The same applies to the main reception, even when it's very busy with the check-in s.
There is also a bar upstairs the restaurant, where the staff barely speaks English
Not enough parking compared to the size of the complex.
However, despite its size, the indoor pool jas clean and warm water (a bit too much Chlorine, you can smell it from the 3rd floor); if you are lucky to stay at building H, you have the spa in the same building, otherwise you have to go outdoors through the cold (during winter). There are no relaxing/playing spaces for children/adults (no darts, billiard, etc). There is a fitness room with small and old equipment, without mirrors; It took me about 2 days to make an appointment for massage, the guy responsible was barely at the spa reception and barely spoke English.
In the end, you get what you pay for: one of the worst hotels I've been too. I'm never coming back. Next time I'm coming to Bansko, I'll find a...
Read moreFeb 2023. Things have changed. Now breakfast is starting at 7:30. Huge difference. Out apartment was now in building H , same as swimming pool. Apartment was 441. Suppose to be 3 rooms but keep in mind that 3rd is kitchen/living room. Not to many places for you to place clothes, boots, helmets. Very tiny space. Doors couldn't be closed cause they were broken.Door from bathroom couldn't be closed, only locked. Only one key for 6 persons .The temperature was really hot, so huge difference from other rooms. Feb.2018 - 5 nights The note is 1 star JUST due to the fact that the food was horrible from my family's point of view. I heard others with the same opinion.I felt like I have payed for nothing. BUT, otherwise: Room was good with sufficient space.Heat was super ok.Bathroom the same.We had a chicineta with anything.Flat Tv with usb and hdmi connection. Due to this, the room gets 5 stars. Location.Because the hotel is close to the gondola, it saves you a lot of time. Swimming pool it's in another close building so pay attention to this thing if you have in mind to go.There are like 10 meters of outside walk, but for the small ones maybe it's not so good.I didn't mind the cold outside. The bar from the entrance can provide you with any drink you want and has ok music. Now let's get back to my complaints. The food from breakfast and dinner was awful.I'm not picky at food, but you didn't had much choices to take. Not much meat, not much potatoes of something more comestibile than rice.Rice, rice and more rice. Cucumbers, tomatoes and salads.Morning or evening maybe. Maybe the beer saved something. In one night they had french fries, different from the rice. The breakfast is also poor and low quality. I did payed 4 stars on booking, but definitely the food is not for 4 stars. The personal was great, polite and very careful. I recommend this hotel due to the room and location but I don't recommend taking the food.I had to eat outside the hotel each night after hotel dinner just to be full and sleep...
Read moreDo not stay here. Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff are rude and not helpful.
Before we even got to Bansko we were meant to have a transfer at 9:00am from Sofia (organised by the hotel) nothing was ever booked and we were stuck in Sofia on New Years Eve. I had to call and speak to the hotel staff 20 times to ensure it was confirmed as they said they would call me back but never did - on the morning of the supposed transfer they confirmed it would be there at 9. It never arrived.
We then had to pay €400 euros to get to Bansko. There was no apology.
During our stay we had 1 day with no running water and 1 day with no hot water.
We then organised a trip to the thermal spa near by through the hotel. They charged us 50 Lev per person (group of 10) for entry and use of the facilities. We were then informed there was an option for a nicer spa for an extra 20 per person. We took this option but upon arrival we were told we could not use all the facilities just the one pool.
It was a 10 minute drive from the hotel and cost 700 lev (£350) to sit by a pool and not have the use of the facilities.
This hotel will just swindle you for money do not trust them.
Overall, it was a very very bad experience and I would not advise anyone to stay here. Or if you do have no expectations of what you are getting and do not trust the staff to organise things for you as they will...
